Hi guys !

My name is Corvus, I'm french, and I'm the webmaster of http://granturismo4.free.fr (aka www.granturismo4.fr.st)

I must admit that I'm quite proud that you discovered my site... :D

To answer your questions, the informations appearing on my site come frome Games Press (an amazing site for professionnal video games journalists) and some articles published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. So these informations are not only rumors, and they've been confirmed (at least most of them) by Sony and/or Polyphony.
- I have access to this kind of data 'cause I'm working for a french website dedicated to PSX and PS2 www.actu-playstation.com -

alexy2k-> If you wanna translate my site, let's collaborate ! We could work together to create an english version, don't you think so ? To speak frankly, your page translating my site is quite ugly, and I think it would be much more efficient to work together.
If you're interested in it, you can join me on MSN (c_o_r_v_u_s@hotmail.com)

Please excuse me for all the mistakes I've made in this message, and have a nice play !

Yes, it looks great and thanks for translating it, it looks to be a great site! :D

I found the following article on a website in the UK, some of you may have seen it but I chose to post it for those who have not. :D

Gran Turismo 4 status
Tuesday, 16 April 2002

Expect to see Gran Turismo 4 sometime around late 2003 in Japan.
In the latest issue of the Japanese publication Famitsu, Sony Computer Entertainment commented on the latest status of the development of Gran Turismo 4, the latest entry in the highly acclaimed racing series for the PlayStation 2. A spokesman from the company said, "We are developing the game with a late 2003 release in mind. We are still in the process of working on the overseas version of Gran Turismo Concept, and plan to shift into the development of GT4 once we are done. It is still in early experimental stages, and we hope to have something running this year."

Gran Turismo 4 for the PlayStation 2 will feature network online capabilities.

These are from PS2 IGN and I just thought I should post these things as well! :D

March 11, 2002 - Speaking at Toyota's Amlux Tokyo center this weekend, where a special Toyota-only Gran Turismo game debuted, series director Kazunori Yamauchi dropped more than a few hints about the future of Sony's millions-selling racing series, as reported by Impress Game Watch.
The fourth Gran Turismo, he said, is due for completion in about two years, and should feature a great many features besides the oft-discussed network battle. Expanded modifications to the styling, color, and exterior of cars are to be expected, some of them possibly downloadable from Sony's broadband network, as well as much more supplemental information about each model. More ambitious courses are in planning stages as well, with the winding roads along the Mediterranean Sea being one example. Yamauchi also said he would like to include more old, classic cars, with authentic sound and handling.

Check back in the middling to far future for more GT4 updates -- two years is going to be a long time to wait. The end result, however, should be worth it.

PS3 Speeds
Sony has already said that PS3 will be 1,000 times as powerful as the PS2. Woah. This fact has become even more real since IBM, which is working with Sony and Toshiba on the PS3 processor called the "Cell," announced in New Scientist magazine that they've created a processor clocked at 110 Ghz. Now think about the PS2, with its 300 Mhz Emotion Engine. Sounds too good to be true.

GT4 Will Blow Your Mind
A recent flurry of Japanese Websites have been talking up the first snippet of Gran Turismo 4. The sites have posted that GT4 was shown behind some very closed doors and that the game absolutely blew the onlookers minds. It looks stunning, and it's definitely, definitely online. Ohmigod.

Please excuse me ! I didn't used the right term: your site is not ugly, but it is less complete than mine (is there a word to express that ?)

I'm really sorry of this misunderstanding, but sometimes it's not very easy to express correctly in a foreign language...

Ok, I just finished the english index page of my GT4 Site. If you wanna visit it, just go to www.granturismo4.fr.st and then click on the english flag on the upper right corner.

I'm sure the page is full of big mistakes, so it would be nice if you could tell me the things I have to correct.
The other pages will soon be translated in english, but it's quite a huge work, so please be patient !

Thank you very much ! I'm very pleased to see that you appreciate my work, and it increases my motivation for the translation.

I hope the final result will satisfy you

btw..... here is the translated version for Gamemode for you GT4 site! I have it in my sig! Hope you dont mind! :o ;) :)

MODE ARCADE

The mode most accessible from the series of Gran Turismo: a garage déja filled well, many circuits available as of the first launching... The arcade mode constitutes an excellent way of launching out, then to involve itself. In WP 4, this one should include the same bases as at the time of the precedents opus. Simple races, free Tests and Races multijoueurs (out of splitté screen, by i.link or on Internet) will be part, with very promising innovations, and in particular on the level of the play with several (see the section multijoueurs).

MODE GRAN TURISMO

The heart of the play! Length, difficult and complex, but so jouissif... There still, WP 4 will take again the fundamental ones which made the success of the series: The garage first of all. You will be able to store there your racing cars, duly gained or bought with large expenses. You will be able to also compare the performances of them and to test them on various tracks, in order to learn how to know the least reaction of it. It is as in your garage as you will be able to note (with fièreté) your statute of advance in the play. The tune shop then. Obliged turning for which wants to personalize its car and to make it accrocheuse. One promises there to us possibilities of tuning more succeeded even (!), as well as the possibility of modifying the esthetics of your cars. Ailerons, buckets, rims (just like in WP 3) and color could thus be modified with your own way. Of course, it will be always possible to invest in parts improving adherence, the transmission, the power or the stability of the cars, but the prices of those should be revised to avoid too great disparities. Moreover, your competitors them also will pass by the box tune shop before launching out on the track... The dealer will be part and will propose to be able to choose, among the models of the catalogue, the cubic capacity wished for certain vehicles. The cars available will be models of series, of course, but also sometimes of the concept bus resulting from the various shows cars (one feels the influence of WP Concept...) Large piece of the play, the licences will take a very particular importance in WP 4. They will be used to free cars for your garage and with being able to take part in various competitions, as that was done previously, but they will be also useful to increase its appropriations and to perfect its technique of piloting. In the center even of the play, races of leagues! Déja very many in WP 3, those will be even more copiers in WP 4 and will be cut out according to the level of difficulty. One should of course find there simple races, championships, tests of endurance and rallys. The participation in these various races will be conditioned by the possession of certain models and the adequate licence. Telemetry will be very packed in this mode and will allow a detailed analysis of your idles: throughput speeds, engine speeds, side accelerations and decelerations will be entirely dissected and more the quibblers will be able to use this exceptional tool to try the impossible one, the perfect turn! Large innovation, the play will take into account the weather, and a race started under the sun will be able to finish under the rain. The passages to the stand will thus take a strategic dimension and it will not be any more question of calculating in advance the pit-stops. Moreover, WP 4 will also manage time and we will thus attend an alternation jour/nuit. This should especially influence the longest races, in the league endurance for example.

MODES MULTIJOUEURS

Relatively limited in the precedents opus, the option multijoueurs of WP 4 will be developed much. As well as specified Mr. Yamauchi, the producer of the play, WP 4 will be thought for the play online. Of course it could be played as a recluse without problems, but the use of the modem will be one considerable. The races online should thus join together to 16 participants, but they will not be only the participants, but they will not be the only possibilities offered. It should for example be possible, in the long term, to download new cars directly on the sites of the manufacturers, and why not implement new circuits! An option ' test drive' will also make its appearance, making it possible to the player to test vehicles on line before buying them. Accordingly the memory board will become obviously obsolete, and the acquisition of a HD will be obligatory... Many new expenditure, therefore, but the game is worth the candle. Moreover, one will find the possibility of playing out of screen splitté (to 2 or 4 if all is well) as well as the i.link mode, synonymous with endiablées parts.

had to edit now its 100% correct!
