How about this idea? Cos streetracing is SOOOO popular all over the world and car tuning is more popular than ever. I know it sounds similar to tokyo extrme racer, but GT could be more sophisticated and with more cars and parts.
Only streetcars. There shlould be no special racing cars. Only streetversions, that you could customize: lots of bodykits from original manufacturers, lots of wheels, wings etc. NOS should be included.
US, European and Japanese cars all should be included.
The races should be at night, in the early morning or late in the evening - like real streetraces. 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile and 1 mile races, also racetracks should be included - on old abandoned airfields for example. Most of the races should take palce at night in the city - in old abandoned industrial areas, or on city streets in traffic form point A to point B. Movie feeling should be mixed with real simulation style racing. Nothing like unrealistic Burnout2- the cars are flying like planes all over the the place - that sucks.
The key to the game is lot of parts that you could customize and buy(a lot more than in GT3) wastgates, boost controllers, headers, pistons, camshafts, injectors, intakes, clutches etc. All from ORIGINAL manufacturers (it has never been done before wit original afrermarket part suppliers. European aftermarket parts from - ABT, Brabus, Koenig, Carlsson, Zender, K&N, Alpina, H&R, Hartge, Gemballa, Techart, Superchips, Cosworth, Weber etc. US - Holley, Edelbrock, Hooker, comp cams, weiand, MSD, vortech, B&M, Callaway, Lingenfelter etc. Japan- HKS, Greddy, Blitz, bomex, veilside, koni etc. Also should be included all the parts from original performance divisions all over the world - Nismo, TRD, Mugen, Ford Motorsorts, Cosworth (Ford Europe), STI, Ralliart, goodwrench, AMG, BMW Motorsport, Quattro Gmbh etc. Then every car You buy and build will be original - like in real life. The idea is to give player a real life feeling of a real streetracer.

Additions are welcome to this idea. Maybe we can send a letter to Polyphony? :)

sounds very nice, i like the name brand modification idea. One thing i would add is weather effects on all tracks, location selection, realistic police AI, ability to DISABLE nitrous, full drag slicks, any engine swap [ supra engines in civics!] w/o affecting weight dist...and a few that i can't think up right now..

Thats sounds like an idea but I dont want to see GT4 become that. If you want that stuff, send a letter to the people who make Tokyo Xtreme Racer.

tokyo extreme racer doesnt have the realistic car physics, it doesnt have the large number of cars etc.

GT4 should be like orinary GT series game, but
GT4: Special Streetracing Edition should be a whole new standalone game.

 The :gt: guys would be kept very busy getting the licenses for this lot :D

yeah that would be sweet, but hey it cant just be that. The original must parts must stay becuase that is what makes gran turismo stand out and be succesful.Yeah the possibility being a stand alone game would be like concept but bigger and more challenging.

Thats a terriable idea. You shouldn't promote street racing. I know my name is streetracer780 but that was back when I used to race.

and FYI its Nitrus not NOS

They already have some aftermarket brands, all they have to do is that to put more in it.

How 'bout this for a title:
Gran Turismo presents: Street R (street racing unleashed)

And the cover will be divided into 4 best aftermarket cars: Musclecars (Mustang, Camaro, etc.), JDM compacts (Civics, Integra/RSX, etc.), Euro tuners (Golf, BMW, etc.), & Exotic car tuners (like Dinan BMW, Ligenfelter Vette, etc.)

Let me know if its kinda cheesy.

I wouldn't mind seeing the actual parts on the cars :car: as they are intended for racing? :chkflag: Saying that arguably we have enough parts within the manufacturer tuning? :D

However I'd hate to see a GT game labelled with streetracing all over the cover? :shakehead

they wont make a street racing game with the GT label because street racing is irresponsable, illegal and has nothing to do with GT racing.

There will be no GT logos all over the place, instead, PD will come up a different logo provided on the game. Besides, only the "Gran Turismo" letterings will be present not this :gt: logo.

but street racing has nothing to do with touring cars!

I know, street racing (illegal) is very different from gran touring (legal). That way. PD has a way to separate the to types of racing games, but with the same simulation formula as the original. There will be no licence tests, but it will be composed by betting or whoever wins gets it all, a lengthy negosation involved before every race, just like real-life street racing.

Please correct me if my grammar is a bit lousy.

I suppose that they did put street :car::gcar: racing into the GTA 3 story lines, but I'd probably leave this type of thing in GTA anyway, no need to get it in :gt:?

You forgot M A Developments, Overfinch and Paramount Peformance. ;)

If you want street racing, why not pick up "Midnight club"?

Or maybe "Midnight Club 2" When it comes out.

Those games have no realism... Anyway... The concept of a standalone streetracing game by PD (nothing connected with GT) is good , but i don't think theres' anybody able to make such a game with those futures... maybe in a couple of years... Anyway licenses for that one won't be easy too... I don't think manufacturers want to see their cars as cars participaiting in illegal activities etc... we'll see...

Midnight Club doesn't have any quality to it, in fact even the first Burnout is a bar notch than MC.
