Much like GTA:SA (Which is still in the charts at 13) GT4 has slammed into the UK charts in 1st place days after it's release.

Also bear in mind that games like MGS3 had a couple of days head start on GT4 too!!

UK CHARTS: GRAN TURISMO 4 ZOOMS INTO POLE POSITION

Sony's racing sim sequel becomes the fourth fastest selling videogame ever

11:44 Gran Turismo 4 has unsurprisingly zipped into the top spot in the latest ELSPA UK All-Formats Chart compiled by ChartTrack, week ending March 12.
Launched last Friday in the UK, Gran Turismo 4 is already one of only four titles that have sold over a quarter of a million units in launch week and has secured the honour of becoming the fourth fastest selling videogame on these shores, the top three being GTA: San Andreas, GTA: Vice City and Halo 2.

Success for GT4 means that Konami's Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has been knocked from the number one position down to two this week. EA's FIFA Street debuts at three, and then the first DS launch title to make itself known in the chart is Super Mario 64 DS, which squeezes into fourth place.

EA has another new entry at five in the shape of The Sims 2 expansion, University, while sixth position sees another DS launch title make its presence known. The insane Wario Ware Touched! on Nintendo's handheld has proved a popular choice among UK punters snapping up DS in the first few days of availability on these shores.
At seven is Activision's Mercenaries, which as dropped from two last week, eighth place is occupied by Activision's Star Wars: Republic Commando, which has fallen from three and Sega's Sonic Mega Collection Plus has dropped from four to nine. Waggling non-existent limbs at ten is another DS launch game, Rayman DS.

Nothing too interesting happening in the 11 to 20 slots, although a small tear has been shed over Pro Evolution Soccer 4's drop from nine to 20 this week.

Here's the current top 20 in full:

1 Gran Turismo 4
2 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
3 FIFA Street
4 Super Mario 64 DS
5 The Sims 2: University
6 Wario Ware Touched!
7 Mercenaries
8 Star Wars: Republic Commando
9 Sonic Mega Collection Plus
10 Rayman DS
11 The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
12 Asphalt: Urban GT
13 GTA: San Andreas
14 The Urbz: Sims in the City
15 Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005
16 PlayBoy: The Mansion
17 Pokémon Dash
18 Need for Speed Underground 2
19 FIFA 2005
20 Pro Evolution Soccer 4

I suppose that this was to be expected though...

I would have gotten GTA SA at the same time as GT4 if PAL wasn't delayed for another two times, and I was more looking forward to GTA SA *guilty* but it's really not THAT nice, it's pretty damn UGLY if you look closely (especially after seeing GT4) and well I've played SSSOOO much of it that I don't know what to do next with GTA SA, so I think GT4 is the better game out of the two. And that has been said by a honest reliable guy like me:sly: (yeah right, my name isn't GT4 fan for noth'n DUUHHU:lol: )
