This is probably the 500th GT4 thread. Too lazy to search.

I really hope Polyphony doesn't screw GT4 with some elaborate multiplayer mode. It should be single player mode, settings mode and straight up multiplayer.

Single player is great already. Just started a new game for the sake of starting a new game. Physics are almost perfect. No change!

With Settings Mode you should be able to load a single player car, have all of the circuit tracks (no special stages) to test on, then like 'basic' and 'advanced' diagnostic tool sets to tune your car to the max without the guess work.

Then multiplayer should be fully customizable. Any track, mirrored, reversed, maximum horsepower limit, specific drivetrain, specific car(s). Customizability; unique license plate numbers, real world licensed aftermarket aero parts, more rims, custom decals. Statistics too of course.

What they really need is a decal hosting area that is linked somehow to the internet so you can make a decal on your computer instead of using some MSPaint ripoff, then upload it to this site and download it onto your memory card via PS2.

I dunno, what do you guys think?

some good and well thought out ideas, especially the Decal Hosting Area.

Oh, and Welcome to GTP!

Heh. Thx.

Missed a couple things;

-Single player Player Profiles instead of having ONE SAVE PER MEMORY CARD THAT GETS DELETED BY FOOLISH SIBLINGS.

-More replay control. Meaning, more selectable camera angles, variable play speed, maybe the ability to send saved replays to people online.

-The ability to hold multi-race online tournaments.

-Registered multiplayer account names w/unique profiles that get deleted after 60 days of no use, and a 3 character 'Team Initials' area next to the name that can be changed accordingly without having to create a new name or account and lose any accumulated statistics.

Let's say someone looks at your profile. They should see wins/losses/ratio, single player track time, actual multiplayer racing time, total multiplayer races, trophies (nothing too fancy, just something like a small bronze one stating 'single race third place' with a number of how many times that trophy was won, a medium sized gold one, slightly more detailed, stating you placed first in at least a Five Race Tournament, etc...), and a box that displays a rotating view of the car you are currently "in", being able to access your single player garage and change cars from the multiplayer games screen before joining a race.

-Now I'm just dreaming: Unique Car VIN Numbers...

Yeeeah...

Lazy indeed. Moved to the appropriate forum, and yes, it is at least the 500th post regarding GT4. In fact, we've got an entire forum dedicated to it called "Rumor & Speculation"

If you can't do a search, how about I suggest that you have a look around GTPlanet and see what else may spark your interest.

Whoa, could someone delete a couple of those repeated posts. Last night, when I was clicking the submit reply button, it wasn't making it past this reply to topic screen. I figured because it was so late maybe the server went into sleep mode or something, who knows. It was just being really slow. I even copied it and saved it so I didn't have to write it again...

BUT- at least it posted =P

I got kinda frustrated one day when I realized you couldn't select certain views. ESPECIALLY that one that is behind the car but off to one side a little. Mad drift cam. Then there is the one that is on the FRONT sidepanel overlooking the front wheel, which also can't be selected.

I like to watch the replays cuz I learn from them, but there seemed to be a shortage of decent camera angles in GT3's replay mode...:(

Not neccessarily a replay editor, just more control over the replay. More camera angles, some selectable filters (ie. like if you ever accidentally pushed that stupid preview button but actually watched the replay that it plays, sometimes its normal, but sometimes its all wierd and different colors. those are filters), and just overall more control over the replay with pause and slow-mo and stuff.

Another thing that would be pretty sweet would be the ability to use the left analog stick as an in-race point of view changer. Like if you are in the car, move the stick halfway to the left the camera will rotate and you will be looking out the left window of the car (albeit the window cuz if they put in dashboards and the like, the game would just get too big), and if you push the stick all the way to the left and it will move to the rear of the car.

Maybe instead of just being able to mash a button and whip a 180 turn to look behind you, that button should be changed to 'rear view mirror view' that focuses on the rear view mirror and gives you a shakey but detailed view of what's behind you.

Like I say, the game is already almost perfect. Just little things like that would add to the driving experience. I reall really hope that they don't overthink this game.

GT3 actually had less in-game camera angles than GT2.

All it really needs is another chase cam a bit further back like GT2 had, and maybe a locked chase cam for drift mastas.

Ive said these ideas beofore, but i think that the shadows need redoing, eg. you are driving the Espace F1, you get a big, rectangular shadow, but then try the Zonda, and you get the same one! damn i hate that!

The thing I want the most is a dedicated drift event... oh wait, thats been confirmed.. :D

( would be nice if tyre marks / smoke was confirmed also tho eh.. damn )

anyway I think a great addition to the "tune shop" would be a dyno. Just to get the cars on the rollers, do a few runs.. compare previous charts, tweak the ecu settings / boost level and such would be a great feature IMO.

and if you were running rich, some black smoke would be nice ;)

anyway.. whatever PD has in the works will be great.
