GT4 won't load!

My PS2 is quite old and is not mod chipped or anything, but a few days ago it started refusing to load GT4. My other games work OK, but when I put the GT4 disc in it just sits there as though it's empty. There are no scratches or marks on the disc, but it still won't see it. :(

Has anyone any suggestions, or am I best just replacing my PS2? To be honest, if it won't play GT it's as good as useless!

Do a search for "disk read error". In fact, there's a thread on this subject in the FAQs above, if you stop to look.
