BTW ,

I was wondering if anybody would have a problem with an early new race posting.

Awesome choice. 👍
Seems like an instant classic.
I doubt anyone could have a problem with an early race when it is something as cool as this. Also, I'm glad to see it goes in GT Mode. 👍

Definately a good job with picking the races, keep up the good work.

Oh my. JTGC + Deep forest, it's a combination made in heaven. Certainly something that I'll need to work on and MAKE SURE that I actually end up submitting a time for! Something that I still seem to do all too often.

Nice combo Sjaak 👍 it took me a few runs to alter my lines to stay off the sidewalks ;)

21.925
46.702

alot left for me but I thought I'd get the ball rolling, I have a setup from days gone by on an old game save, I just used that as I'm way too lazy to tune anything anymore :p

reporting back in after 3 wonderful summer weeks in france. time flies, even if you don't have a tv, pc or ps2 on your hands :sly:

I was wondering if anybody would have a problem with an early new race posting.
never!

great combo, funny cos erik's first tictac series race happens to be on the same great track. only bugger is that it's not on superstickies and that concretes are out of bounds but hey i can live with that 👍

lukely this week some time so the first few laps are done.
T1: 23.298
T2: 50.190
a lot to do according to the first time posted. I think i have to look after the setup of the car.:scared:

Le Mans

Leaderboard!

Welcome back Steven, 👍

Hope you enjoyed your hols!

Another chance to run in GT mode with an awesome car on a great track.

Well done Sjaak!

Some splits of my test laps:

21.943
47.044

My replay shows 485 BHP,is that the same you guys see?

A quick session and so far 21.549 / 46.149 👍 This is a great combo for a GTmode race and it hardly needs touching at all :) I'm gonna try and put some decent effort in this week if I can .. I'm a big fan of the forest ;)

First few laps and I was cutting the concrete pavement until I reread the allowances :dunce:

my replay has 485hp also 👍 .. Nice combo Sjaakie

edit: 21.436 / 46.063 :)

captain slow came to the forest, screwed a bit here and there to the setup and came with a first set of t's:

23.471 - 49.855

any hints on lsd usage so far? so far my only surprise was that setting the rear camber to 0.5 improves controlling the car.

My first impression upon reading the title for this weeks race wasn't great, not bad, just not immediately enthused to start playing. Then again, that's been the case with almost anything GT4 related for a while now. I assumed it was arcade mode too, so that of course didn't help.

Then I saw mention of GT Mode... Hmm, it's a whole 'nother ballgame now, boys!!! Sweetness Sjaak! And I have a few days off from my regular work that won't be completely filled by other things and my new second job, so I think I may actually have some time to put into this race, and come out with something decent! Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon. Gotta go to bed for now...

👍 👍

Its a curious thing, but i found that putting the rear toe to -2 helped keep the butt of this car in check too.
But i am still a second off the pace, cos i need to make her softer without losing her cornering ability, and i need to work less, and sleep more too.

Good luck all
:irked:👍

Some semi-decent splits from me...

T1: 22.048 (seen at least 3 tenths quicker!)
T2: 47.190

Got the car set up so that it's really quite twitchy, seems to be working for me so far... Just got to get a lucky lap with it.

By the way, with regards to toe - what is toe in and what is toe out? What does -2 do?? The explanation along the bottom doesn't say, and it doesn't seem to matter what I set it to, the car handles the same...

All i did with my car was put the downforce to maximum front and back and put a gear trick on it ... everything else is stock 👍

great combo gents!!! GT Mode for sure!! 👍

21.855
46.688

really like this one...car/track combo...top notch!!:dopey:

Oh jeez, just realized I don't even have the car yet... $72k isn't going to quite cut it either. Bobby!!!

One word ... Deutsche Touring Car Meisterschaft ... or put another way ... wann sie dumbkopfen auf den Trak gesmakken haben sie ein Mercedes das kann fur vielen grunbacken gesellen.

Oh god, the german speakers are going to rip me a new one for that :)

Almost exactly two hours later, and Bobby has completed the Fuji 1000km race in his FGT, and the Xanavi NISMO GTR has been purchased... Currently seeing what I can install, changing the oil, and hitting the track. I'll be back with some first stint splits shortly... 👍

... Currently seeing what I can install
... which is exactly ZIP :) nice & cheap if you're short for credits.

23.195 - 49.188 - laptime only .3 faster :yuck:

one of the best combos of the year to me. 👍:tup:s to sjaak (again).

Well, I spent too much time tinkering to come up with any clean splits... Down to around 46.4xx on my fastest T2 so far though. I need to focus on getting around the track with some regularity before I can tinker. :)

Oh, and actually, you can modify the car, chassis stiffening(roll cage). Are the people who're talking about a twitchy rear not using it? I don't find the rear that "loose".

It's 100% incorrect, but oh-so-funny

When you shorten it down, and remember than it's different now.

Deutsche Touring Masters is the new name, since Meistershaft (championship) requires more of the races to be in Germany.

I'm not sure, but like you I don't find rear loose a problem. I've been working on getting the front to stick under acceleration -hit the gas and the front end just washes out.

And I haven't put a cage on a car in quite a while after the game telling me, and people apparently confirming, that it tends to excacerbate understeer.

Same here. If I had the lines down better I could drive around it, so I'm going to spend some time just driving for a while, then start to tune once I get more consistent.

ran a few laps last night. I tinkered with the toe a little but ended up putting it back to stock as it didn't seem to affect the car handling. Who is doing the tranny trick?
