Quick guide to replay checking:

  1. check the race summary, check that the tyres are Racing - Hard and that the power is 309 hp
  2. firstly, check the replay from the farthest top view (press R1 twice as soon as the race starts then X if you need to switch to the outside camera)
  3. secondly, check the replay from the same view but in reverse (press L1)
  4. if you suspect more than two wheels leave the track, freeze the replay ('Select' button) to enter photomode
  5. if you suspect contact with a wall, check the data logger for any sudden spike in the cars speed under full throttle

Congrats to everyone

holl01's time is insane, I must watch that lap 👍

I couldn't get under 57.15 so I'm happy that I didn't try anymore :scared:

Congrats to Dan & Imfaster!

Awesome times, from Ron too, well done. 👍

Here's a first for me...
A replay within 1 hour of the results!

Congrats to all on some great laptimes 👍 ... blazin 56 there too! .. I had a 56.981 dirty and many low 57.0's all dirty also!. because of the illusive cone :ouch:
Here's a video of my best clean one anyway which was run on NTSC and the .max file 👍

Cheers for a great combo

well...sure dont like to admit ive made a mistake...but i'll be the first to stand up and say "I made a mistake!!" thought i would review my replay once more before posting it and found something i didnt catch before. in the reverse view of my replay i caught something that i didnt see before...the top of the first cone "twitched" just a little. dont know why i didnt catch this before but i see it now. terrible mistake i know but i want to be clean and honest...period!! upon futher study you can see the cone up against the white line of the track and after the car passes the cone has moved just slightly away from the white line!!!

rules are rules so please remove my time from the results board. i apologize to everyone here...makes me feel terrible for posting a dirty time but honesty is the best policy to save face here!!! please move everyone up on the board and again i apologize to everyone for my stupid oversight. :ouch:

it's cool fast! good to be honest & quick about it. i would feel exactly the same. but even if one of us would have caught your dirty lap it wouldnt be a real problem. everyone makes mistakes. the important thing is to not try to get away with a dirty lap.
in dutch we have a saying that says something like 'honesty lasts the longest' and that is always true.

congrats to the many gold winners of this week.

Here's my replay ... I don't know which is harder, racing or dealing with demonic external drives on the PS2. First I tried uploading Ron's replay but my PS2 refuses to play the file. (yes it's an NTSC PS2) and then I tried Photo mode and it reports "USB drive not connected" when it clearly is and even lights up when I try and write to it. Bring on the PS3 I say ...

Dang, sjaak took second place from strop by .004 seconds, now that is some close racing! I can't really say the same for div2. Two corners to lose so much time, who would have thought right?
Congrats to the winners in each class.

Baah ... I want to see the photo :) Honestly I'm not that surprised as I kept going wide on that last turn and having to throttle back to stop from taking the grassy route to the finish. In my last session I was able to beat my ghost and run a .740 after turning in a 31.6xx T2, but sadly punted the cone of death over the fence in the process. (If you're wondering it was an inadvertent drift style left right tail flick and round the right hander into the straight that got me the speed and I'm sure I couldn't repeat it again if I tried it a thousand times).

Nice driving btw Ron ... I swear your bimmer had friggin rubber bands holding it to those corners, I just can't seem to hug those curves like that without damaging the scenery on the exit. Your brake/accelerator switch-over is a lot faster than mine too, I have a lot of work ahead.

One question for those using DFP, how many are left foot braking and how many are right foot on both - and while I'm asking questions, how come no-one is using the G25?

Left foot with the DFP always. Funny thing is I can't modulate my brakes very well with my left foot in a real car.

I've been wondering about the G25 as well. You would think someone on here would be using one.

Jay.'s replay = Clean 👍
Mr P's replay = Clean 👍
Strop's replay = Clean 👍

With my DFP, I always use my left foot to brake. This week I only used both feet to brake at the chicane (before the cones)

If you need both feet to brake, your DFP must be broken :D

Good racing everyone!

AMG.

In a shameless attempt to improve by copying what other people are doing I started this weeks race with left foot braking. I'll post my splits when I finish my first lap :) I've been thinking about switching for a while but the purist in me wondered if this was reasonable, but I'm pretty much convinced that I'm losing time because of the switch over. Worse still I race without shoes and a few times I've snagged a sock on the brake pedal while switching over.

Hopefully I'll adjust in time to post something competitive this week. If not ... well we're not exactly playing for sheep stations here are we :). You guys are certainly pushing me hard, it takes about 6-8 hours to reach my best time and after that it seems no matter how hard I try I can't get much improvement. I guess experience counts a lot and I certainly watched with interest as Ron gave a demonstration in elegance there, and I'd really love to see some of hollo-alien's replays but my ps2 won't do PAL.

Considering six months ago I was starting out and struggling to get golds on the B license tests I'm not unhappy with where I've got to. I do aspire though to be giving you div-1 guys something to watch for in your mirrors one day.

I'm sure you will just keep getting faster and faster in every combo you attempt mate 👍 I have been racing OLR since 2001 and know all tracks like the back of my hand due to frequent visits to those tracks in many OLR events :)
So its plain I will find the speed very quickly with optimum bend speeds etc ... I aint the best at these games and will never be! But to beat me you just gotta be pretty damn good! and thats the truth :sly:

Many members have been amazed at the times pulled by D1 drivers since way back when it all started for the WRS and its usually that curiosity that pushes them to study the replays or even chase the ghosts and before they know it! they have motored their way right into D1 themselves to be up against the drivers they were in awe of 👍 and before long they will beat them too ;) and then come to the conclusion that if you wanna be really good at this game! you gotta put in the many hours studying and perfecting all the individual corner speeds capable for that specific bend and also take on most combo's even if you dont like them :)

Good luck to you mate and thanks for the kind comments regarding my elegant driving :sly:

Cya in D1 soon

Never used DFP and I sometimes struggle to 'feather' my speed with DS2.
I know fast times are possible with DS2, Ron, Sphinx and a few others prove that every week.
I can't help thinking how much time I could save if I was using DFP.

BTW, How far ahead in Division 3 do I need to get before promotion? ;)
I really do need some stronger competition.
(No offence to the rest of the Div3 guys. :p )

Kinda bummed I didn't have the chance to submit this week. Being that I was on vacation I didn't have an internet connection all the time, and could only rely on open networks once I left the house. My time was a 57.616, and I have a replay. So if I get around to it I might post it later for the hell of it.

man Mr.P...i dont think it could have been explained any better than hitting the nail right on the head. i mean that's why i came to forums like this because i dont have anyone close in my area to race with. boy was i suprised at the times being posted. did alot of research on the web and studied replays of great drivers such as yourself and Holl01. you guys have put up some monster times. never thought for a minute i would be racing with the likes of someone like you. (down on knees before you)..lol but here i am racing in the same forum. not the fastest but not the slowest either...but definately the result of watching and soaking up every last little bit like a big sponge...and imo...the only truly way to learn is laps and laps and laps out ont the tracks. Salute Mr.P...your are one of the great ones. and btw i use a DS2 also. i have a DFP but am nowhere near as fast with it.

just win div3 three weeks in a row and it's goodbye to the captain slows of this planet :)

I am honoured mate but there's really no need to bow :p ;) racing with the DS2 is 2nd nature to me after so many years using and abusing them ( I must have had a good dozen or more since I started :p )
I only ever used a wheel in GT3 rallying the good old chunky momo ... GT4 has been all DS2 even though I had a DFP in the back room :p its just a matter of preference and familiarity.
You are a wicked fast driver for such a short time competing here at the WRS  and it wont be long until you are pushing the old dogs thats for sure 👍 Took me almost 6 years OLR ing to get possible podium results .. I must be like a fine wine and need plenty of time to mature

Take it easy guys and keep pushing like madmen ... it will pay off 👍

This lap looks dead lazy, and it kind of was. Did it on the 4th lap or so around noon, Monday, after having maybe 8 hours sleep over the whole weekend.. I guess being relaxed (or plain knackered) can make you a faster driver :)

Also, how do you manage to break a Dualshock!? They're bulletproof!! :D

thanx bunches for the compliment Mr.P 👍 ive had four DS2's and broke 3 of em. the one i currently use is gonna go sometime soon i know but im so comfortable with it...if that makes sense...i just dont want to get rid of it. they arent bulletproof though because the analog sticks are what usually go on em and then usually the X and the square button for me. some guys have told me that the shoulder button go out quite often though it has never happened to me. the rubber on top of my analog sticks is wearing off now because ive used the same one for about two years now. picked a new one up a couple of months ago in anticipation of my trusty friend going to take a dirt nap at the local landfill...lol :)

My first D2 Gold! :dopey:
But with a couple of my old D3 buds nipping at my heels.
The handicap this week could be enough to get a few of them passed me for the first time since my promotion. :scared:

NTSC replay attached.

One question for those using DFP, how many are left foot braking and how many are right foot on both - and while I'm asking questions, how come no-one is using the G25?

Ha, I also accidentally drifted the last hairpin and somehow it was SUPER fast, it took me 3-4 days JUST to beat it. I could get a few tenths infront of my ghost for T1 and T2 up until the hairpin, then it busts out a drift and hauls some butt. The thing is, the lap I submitted was only .04X better than the one I drifted, but I was at least .2 better on both T1 and T2.

I use LFB, I find it is just plain faster that way but you can't use it on some cars because of the weight balance just makes it understeer(MR cars mainly).

great times from the podiums, it was an inovative combo choice from sjaak, great fun indeed, i'll be making a vid of it tomorrow, cheers, i'll upload the dirty max file when i get my max drive back from ballarat in a couple of weeks

imfaster2!,even though you have made a mistake, can you please upload your replay.

Edit:CMir's Replay = clean 👍

and my pal replay:

I grabed Ron's replay a few days back for that very purpose; to load it up on the anylizer and see just what he is doing, not often to catch ya on an ntsc replay :)

Oh, and it's clean 👍

EDIT: then I realized that it is a full save :dopey:
