Looks like fun, although I've never really figured out the rally in GT4. It's been a little while, too. Also I like the preview of next weeks race-nice touch.

That is exactly what I was going to say. I'm awful at dirt and snow, but this looks manageable. Of course, I'm guessing at how to go around the track, not using perfect lines like some of the crazy people! Actually, this is convenient, because my two worst WRS modes are rally and GT mode. I get to return for 154, hopefully in arcade.

Uh, Jerry, that is supposed to be "Cathedral Rocks Trail II", right?

Looks like a good combo to me, im not to good on rally.

but has they say "if you dont try you dont get" im looking forward to the splits and combo...

QUIK!

EDIT:
ah, I see what you mean now. Silly me ;)

I'm dyslicsick and some times get my mudled up leters and words wron.

Anyway, one more nagging correction: Hyundai is Korean, not Japanese. I know, picky, picky. ;)

This post will include a lot of dunce caps, so bear with me. I ran 20 or so laps trying to get used to the car, and it's tricky to get right. You can gain tons of time drifting properly but any unwanted sliding will slow the car down horribly with the reduced power. But maybe it's just my lamentable technique. :dunce: I'm using 180 (shortest) gears, and I'm sure that's a stupid selection. :dunce::dunce:

First splits:
T1 - 16.736 (Had a horrendous first corner this lap - seen 16.3xx :dunce:)
T2 - 57.483 (Actually got the second sector right!)
Salvaged the lap by looking cool sliding completely sideways through the finish, although no doubt costing me tenths. :dunce: I am still .3 off my modest, pressed-for-time goal.

First splits:
t1 - 16.653
t2 - 58.692

Lost a fair bit of time inbetween T1 & T2 thanks to some unwanted understeer. :(

wayn*z

.. lmao.. sigged

Here's my first set of decent splits. I had a T2 time that was .775 better, but I ended up overcorrecting after landing the jumps and hitting the wall since I'm using the DS2 for this. The regular driving force wheel just sucks for rally.

Anyways:

T1: 16.273
T2: 57.359 (could have been a 56.584 had I not hit that wall)

Nice combo.👍

Rallye in GT ... meh  but I guess I'll give it a go just to keep Erik Ron happy

One addition to Austin's remarks to Mr. Steward: there's an 'r' too much in 'Cathedral' in the thread title, but I don't know if that's changeable. Otherwise your typing isn't half bad Jerry!

Luxy init ... done. As usual Luxy puked over the '&' in 'Dirt & Snow' but somehow it always takes me a while before remembering to throw it out :(

EXCELLENT thing to give a sneak peek at next week's race 👍 👍 👍
Now all that don't like this week's combo can do some next week prepping.
My suggestion for that would be: moderately fast FR road car, N3's, track in both directions, GT mode of course.
It'll be a combo to look forward to, GT mode at last and a city track I actually like :)
EDIT tried out immediately of course and came up with this great combo for 153: any of the Zonda's on S3's (front) & S1's (back). Wicked!

EDIT after a few laps in the KOREAN car I actually came up with a clean lap WTF??? actually it's pretty slow but I'm starting to feel the challenge to keep clean and get a little faster: (don't laugh) 17.657 - 1"01.897

The car and race details have already been decided. 👍

1.30am errors corected. 👍👍 ;)

Welcome guys ok my first session on this one this evening, and didnt do as bad as i thought heres the splits, and maybe gonna run abit longer.

T1 0'16.034 / T2 0'57.550

I personly find this one a bit of a tease to catch up time, if u put to much trottle in to the corner u'll tend to slide out and hit walls or maybe pull it to wide to shave time off, but when you get it right you get it right.

Great time alex also great combo jerry, and steven keep at it bud u'll get there in the end tell that car whos boss "i find it helps if u name the car mines hydi for this week haha" ;)

QUIK!

A further 20 laps brought a 2-tenths improvement but mostly disappointment, either by touching the wall or being just plain slow. But then I came up with a miracle lap a full second ahead of my first save, in which I seemed to hit every corner just right, especially in T1-T2.

T1 - 16.218
T2 - 56.680

Definitely submitting this one, as I'm leaving in a couple hours. See you all in 154!

EDIT: Oh yeah, this was with 190. It seemed to work okay for me, but I don't have the time to try a bunch of gearings. This one kept me out of 6th gear, at least.

Here are my test splits.

Done with default topspeed.

15.969
55.985

Thanks for keeping the power down. Jerry. 👍 Makes rallying fun for us lesser skilled racers too. :dopey:

First session.

16.471
58.019

Figured I'd give the WRS another go..:)

My only clean lap so far yielded

T1 16.130
T2 57.351

with 180 gearing.

Some lunch time laps, this one's gonna be fun :)

16.020 / 56.550

A super hero drift on the sweeper before t2 killed me, looks cool though :dopey:

Hi steven i think you have gotten alhajoth splits wrong you've put 59 instead of a 57 just thought id point it out bud catch ya laters
Thanks Steve matey and fixed immediately of course. Great lap Erik, I'm sure you'll catch Jerry soon this week 👍

Another 20 laps:

16.261
57.424

with topspeed at 180.

Can't se much more without an awfull lot of work. :dopey:

would like to have seen Tahiti Maze or Grand Canyon but this will definitely do!!! nice little combo here...luv the dirt.

first go at it...

T1-'16.184
T2-'56.295

Great lap Erik, I'm sure you'll catch Jerry soon this week 👍

Thanks Steven :) but I happen to know Jerry's PDQ on dirt, maybe if he doesn't run anymore laps :sly: Congrats on a good seattle time, I forgot to mention I noticed you ran it, see this one through also and you'll be happy to say city and dirt back to back 👍

I'l get some new splits up in a bit.

but where are all the div3 players today???

Steven - I am out traveling for work until Saturday but look forward to this combo on my return. 👍

Looks like George is in here now, and I'm sure you will see Kenny with some post surgery DS2 splits.

Funny to see you have now claimed the official title of craplap champion.

It's true, I've been known to have my moments on dirt. Isn't that right, Ron? :sly:

That's funny.

I'll be back with some splits. Firing up the ps2 now.

EDIT: Does anyone else have the infamous red clock showing up. It shows up for about ten seconds after picking the car. I ran the race OK.
When I went to view the replay the red clock was there again, this time was over 2 minutes. I could not review the replay. I shut off the console and could not view the replay still. I watched other replays though. When I loaded the replay to race against, at first no problem, seemed to load in about one second, but then the red clock. After 2-3 minutes it works. So racing on while I can.
I will check the console tomorrow as I thought I may have broken it last week sometime. Besides loosing 1080 (think its the cable) and the red clock it seems OK. Worked OK for arora's combo too.
Splits may be coming.

i would like to ask for some clarification please...just so everyone is on the same page here.

is the dark part of the track to the right in front of the building coming into the start finish considered off limits or is it ok to run there??? doesn't matter to me...but i can see gaining several tenths running through there unless Sphinx doesn't want us to run out there.

sometimes you're allowed to run through the dark part and sometimes not depending on the steward's local rules or guidelines.

my first run i did not hit any invisible barriers or embankments around the track...but i did go thru the dark part i described above. just let me know if we should stay off that part of the track and i'll re-run my laps if its no good. 👍

A few laps before my well overdue bedtime:

15.972
55.604

That was using a top speed of 300, but I have no idea if 300 is the ideal setting or not. Only time will tell.

The "dark part" is OK to drive on, just don't touch the barriers. 👍
