second,

Have you all seen that the deadline has changed for now.

About this weeks race, the BMW was used not that long ago and I tried to change it to a Nissan Z roadster but it wouldn't load....strange.
So we have to do with what we got.

Good news is I gave you all stickies!!!

Have fun.

Sweet combo. Nice to have you back, Sjaak 👍
Does this mean Jerry takes a summer leave or is he focussing on other stuff?
Anyways, I will give this my best shot as I love GT mode and the M3 a lot.
EDIT gave it an immediate go and got to 26.395 and 52.320.
This week in tuning the car much, as far as I can see, will depend on setting up the LSD properly according to driving style.
Great fun 👍
Luxy will come up after the third set of splits have been posted.

Nice to have you back in here, Sjaak. :)

I'm looking forward to GT mode in a 3 series Beamer. You posted the first GT Mode race I ran, Trial Mountain RVS in the Z4, and that was a fun one. :D I wore the car out and had to go back for another, and was still slower than I'd like to admit. Hopefully that part has changed. :trouble:

My first GT Mode WRS time trial.
0'25.569
0'49.677

I suppose "all non power upgrades" means I can apply weight reduction (?).
I didn't tune my car (just turned off driving aids); that's something unfimiliar to me. If I have time, I'll read those Scaff's tuning guides, hope they'll help. That's why I think I'll suck this week. :)
But hey, combo's good! I like it.

Yes, you can buy the parts related to brakes, suspension, drivetrain, and other (includes weight reduction and the rollbar, if you choose).

Even if you do not tune, adding items like racing brakes, racing suspension, fully customizable transmission, and limited slip differential (LSD) will make you faster. And weight reduction is obviously huge, since it positively impacts all aspects of driving the car.

I think Sphinx gives great tuning advice. In essence, it's to drive the car until you think you've reached your limit without making adjustments. And then make small adjustments to see if they have an impact on your time (And the driveability of the car). If you tune too much, too fast, you have no idea what is working and what is not.

Yes, that's just what I'm planning to do. Small adjustments.

Hey nice to see ya back in the saddle Sjaak! Hope all is well for Jerry too 👍

Welcome back Sjaak!!👍

One of my early mentors back at the helm....bravo!

Tunning is not one of my fortes :dunce: but, we'll give it a go and work on it most of the week.

First session and I managed a clean lap. :)

I haven't spent much time tuning. Just bought all the stuff, set the tranny to auto 10 after a few laps, and changed the brake balance after a few more to help with turn in for the sweepers.

Still way behind jmgyro, but what else is new. :dopey:

25.927
50.313

Second WRS I've run on this track. I like city tracks, but I've never been a fan of this one. But I took it easy for a few laps and worked to learn the lines a little better, and it's growing on me.

Nice combo Sjaak, the power/grip/track ratio seems to be right in line. Not too tough, but not too easy. 👍

Jerome

All is fine, thanks. 👍

Sjaak has very kindly offered to help out for a few weeks whilst I deal with other OLR related matters. 👍

This smells like the new Prologue WRS will surface sooner than I expected, even before the big 'fall update?

T1 25.138
T2 48.929

Some tuning...

Have you lot read Le stigs post in the suggestion thread of the weekly racing series ?? it sounds like fun and use's all the practice we do in getting the one lap time. I would give it a go....

tried now a long for 2hours
my split:

T1 24.710
T2 48.102

not easy to drive.. holiday's time 4 me now...
cheers..

Ran a few this morning after breakfast. Totally stock settings with all allowable upgrades. I haven't tinkered with any of the settings yet but I'm happy with my first efforts.

26.119 (several 25's)
51.276 ( any number of 50's)

As usual my LOFT problem has me stuffing my better efforts into various wall and bearers.:dunce: I suspect the repair crew will not be setting around with nothing to do this week. :scared:

I know there is more out there for me, time will be a problem this week with family visiting here at the lake.:)

Managed to spend some time on this last night.

Tuning so far: like pretty much all other GT mode races I feel I need better turn in and more rotation from the rear so I've lowered the car, softened the front springs and sway bar, more front camber and less rear, negative front toe and positive rear toe, increased rear brake bias, LSD to 10/10/10, all aids at 0, stock tranny other than lengthened 3rd and 5th (and not using 6th). Probably not the final settings but I like the feel of the car.

25.638
49.732

First run...tunning including the "gear trick" and height lowered + LSD 30/40/20, nothing else yet

25.910
50.251
GL all

I did some first runs and the rust is showing :sly:

25.835
50.189

I hope to improve my t1 seeing what is possible by the other times.👍

Hi WRS racers,

First, good to see you all again!

Have fun.

Nice to see you back here also, Sjaak. 👍
Than

I like this combo.
I still have a lot of time that can be made up in the next couple sessions. I'm still trying to remember the track in reverse. I'm not sure I completed any laps fully remembering ahead of every corner.
I'm sure this car has a push (understeer) to it. I set the rear toe +1.

26.043
50.967

Gave it 10 laps with all aids off and two clicks down on the autoset. I haven't made any other changes yet.

This is a great combo sjaak, good to have you back for a spell. :)

25.377 / 49.589

Spring Rate 10.8 10.4
Ride Height 98 111
Shock(Bound) 7 7
Shock(Rebound) 8 8
Camber Angle 2 1
Toe Angle 0 -1
Stabilizers 3 4

Auto 11
Brake 4/2

Doesn't help or hurt T1/T2, but helped about a second from T2->Finish. Should be able to get 25.1/48.3 at least with these settings, but I'm a bit off on a few corners.

Luxy

Ride Height 98 111
Toe Angle 0 -1
Brake 4/2
I have my RH at 79/84, toe at-1/+3, and no brake controller. All that works much better IMHO to get me through the curves.
With the LSD I am now at 5/25/5 which works much better than 1,5 LSD or the full one at default. Any other opinions on that?

10 more laps brought me .8 at the s/f but no faster splits ...
EDIT some more laps brought me a quicker lap with
26.673
52.064

... and the brake controller is back in set to 5/5. Gearing at 11 with final to 3.750 to make it just not max out at the end of the long straight.
