Week 181 Race Specifics:
No,This weeks steward has no MPS,just a standard Mazda 6 but the best part is the color,Blue,just like my avatar.
So please be gentle with this weeks car and enjoy the ride.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:


  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • if you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • no hybrids
  • no cheating of any kind
  • nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • save your replay ('Save Ghost Replay' icon)

The following info cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):

  • any information which can be used to infer lap time


Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM to me

  • you can submit only once per race
  • please include in your submission PM your division, name and final lap time
  • deadline is Monday13 October 6 pm GMT
  • if you are unsure of the deadline try this site


Time verification:
Save your replay and keep it at least a full week after the time has been submitted:



  • all gold times each week will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • when a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide a replay before the next race deadline
  • failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from WRS results
  • video replays are not accepted, only .max, .xps or .sps files can be verified

Nice one, Sjaak. :) The gearing and handling on this car is fantastic, and a neat fit for the track. Reminds me a little of running the '02 S type Jag Sedan here at SFGTP3.

A quick note for the NTSC users - This car is called "Mazda Mazdaspeed 6 2005" on the NTSC version. The tires and HP check out the same, so it looks like it's the same car. They probably just market Mazdaspeed as MPS in Europe?

Anyhow, after about 10 laps, I finally strung a couple clean ones together and ended up with -

Watching the replay, there's lots left out there, but finding that balance between staying quick and staying off the walls could be tough. :nervous:

Good combo. I am having some trouble getting used to the clampy nature of the brakes and the lack of grip on acceleration but once I get that worked out I think I can shave more off. Definitely enjoyable. 👍

I got my TV fixed today, so I'm ready for some GT, big time. :crazy:
I've been racing with my 20" since Friday, after nearly a week without GT. :scared:

At least it was an EDTV (enhanced definition tv) with 1080, and I attached it to my setup just infront of the DFP wheel.
It was actually a bit more immersive because all I could see was the TV.
The gauges were right in front of the wheel, it was pretty neat for a couple days.

Anyway, off to Paris.

I use an ubersave for the WRS and the '05 MAZDASPEED is not available in Arcade Mode.

It is in the GT Mode Mazda dealership for -- Credits and not for sale.

Should I look up the availabilty of when this car goes on sale or does someone know a way around this?

Maybe leave your own uber save in NTSC Max format.

I would appreciate any help, thanks guys.

I have this same problem with Ford Model T, I have it in GT Mode but not open in Arcade mode.
(not ubersave)


Anyhow, here are my firts splits:

EDIT: I will post week 180 replay in the results thread
tomorrow after I've got the replay from memorycard.

Kenny - I had it on my non-uber gamesave, so I figured it was not tough to come by. ;)

You can win it by completing the Clubman Cup in the Professional Hall. Maybe just run that on the Uber-Save to see if it awards you the prize Car?

Or, I can email you a copy of my gamesave. Let me know which one you would like to do. 👍
 
I remember chasing that very car round the Amsterdam bypasses not more than 6 months ago....

But Sjaak wasnt playing "Never be clever" at full volume....

OK, so no problem anymore. Thanks for the help.

When I checked today the car was still not available in Arcade mode but it was in my GT mode garage today, so I got in it, went to Arcade mode and there it was :dopey:

First splits to a good Paris combo.

That was weird. I think you and I have the same save. I am glad your TV is fixed, hopefully it will last longer, this time. I wonder if gaming accelerates the life expectancy of that bulb?

Maybe it does, but I'm betting it was being home for 6 months (shoulder) with it on for long periods of time that did it in.
They are only good for 2500 hours max.
It was replaced in December 2007 and this one cost $270. :ouch:

WARNING: Don't but DLP if you use the TV a lot.

I'd say, Marc, you put him on the board now like I used to with new players of which I know the qually was submitted 👍 makes him feel at home instantly :)
