So just to clarify, the asphalt outside of the rumble strips ARE part of the track. So we can take a straight line entering T1?

Sjaak is not online at the time so.........
I'm thinking the cement/concrete (grey) areas are not track, Jerome.
I think the picture was put there to clarify.

Kenny is right.👍

I should have clarified the description of track better.

-Rumble/ripple strips and tarmac/asfalt/BLACK STUFF is track.
-WHITE STUFF is concrete,no track.

Not trying to be sarcastic or stupid here, but what about the "grasscrete"?

I assume, not track. But, we should clarify.

Also, had a few laps at this, but nothing clean that I'm satisfied with.

However, you are right. Fun!! :dopey: :dopey: :dopey:

And TCS is a must have. :odd:

I hope this will clarify the rules of this week.👍

I started with :
-Rumble/ripple strips and tarmac/asfalt is track.

That alone should be enough.

Everything else what is not Rumble/ripple strips or tarmac is NO track.

Meaning concrete ,grasscrete, grass, dirt and every thing else you can found around Deep Forest is no track.

And the rules are: two wheels on track at all times.

Track:Rumble/ripple strips/Red ,White things and Tarmac/asfalt/the black stuff.

And TCS is a must have. :odd:

No, it isn't ;)

If you have wheelspin, try to take the corner in an higher gear. That should do the job 👍

So the grassy rumble strips are out of bounds (although they were allowed elsewhere)?

Picture was posted in the the BMW cup race 1.

Grassy rumble strips?

The part of underground on the picture is sort of grasscrete,no rumble strips.

And if that part of underground is fair game in another race doesn't have to mean it is legal for this week.

I made clear in the racespecifics what is track and what is not track.
I even put a picture aside it.

I shall edit the first post to make it even more clear.

But honesty I thought it was enough to state what is legal.
So I could skip the part what is not legal.

My fault.

Sorry.

Correct.

It's up to the race steward to establish specific rules for their events.

I asked the clarlifying question to avoid having another "I didn't know" or "You failed to explain" debacle.

Sjaak may or may not be aware of what you are referring to, but his only obligation is to state his rules. They do not have to mirror any past event, WRS or otherwise.

And thanks for the tip, Hugo, I'll give that a try. 👍

My fault.

Sorry.
Nope, not your fault at all. I just wanted to make it absolutely certain, just to avoid any bickering afterwards.

This is definitly a fun Car/Track combo :sly: My better runs so far have been with no TCS and lots of wheelspin :scared: Once I get some grip I can better my times.

Ok quick question, I've seen on some events people post some splits up, can we do that and what splits can?

I gave this 5 laps so far without TCS. Shifting in the right spots can definitely help minimize wheel spin, as with any car in GT4. Sometimes TCS is the faster choice but this is not always obvious. I think it depends on the driver and how much patience he can put into feathering the pedals.

I'll go back and forth between the two and see how it works...

28.280 / 1'00.823 TCS off
28.147 / 1'00.449 TCS on

EDIT: Based on 2 tests with and 2 tests without TCS I found that with this particular combo it's faster to have it ON. But that's just this driver, I am sure if a top driver showed up he would smash us all to pieces with TCS off.

28.087 / 1'00.376 TCS on

29.623 / 102.442 with alot of spin last night. I'll try tame the beast today and try a few more laps with TCS on.

Gave it a 10 laps try, TCS off, can't help my self throwing this car at some corners :sly:

T1 29.645
T2 1'03.875

I'm on a short week. I leave for Ohio on thur. Ohio State vs Penn. State Saturday eve.

28.957
1'02.153

Hope that Penn State can knock off the Buckeyes, but seeing as they are here at Iowa week after next I think I'll take the Buckeyes. I'd rather see them come into town a little low than rolling off of a win vs. Ohio. Either way they look tough and Joe Pa is still earning his.

First winter splits

TCS Off
28.643
1.02.314

Leader Board initiated.

@D1Racer_NZ, could you state your Division (when already available) and type of controller you're using. :)

Hi, unsure of my Division at the moment, I only submitted my qual the other day. I'm using a DS2 controller.

👍

I updated the leader board.

After a few laps with TCS off and few more on
I find it so mutch easyer to corner with TCS on that I'll keep using it.

My first splits:

T1 28.529 (435)
T2 1'01.120

Just a few laps with TCS

29.050
1:02.155

Happy with the first and the last turns - everything else feels very awkward - need to figure out if there are better lines or if that's just the way it feels.

I am an Ohio St fan but to be honest I don't know how they beat Penn St. this year. Joe Pa has got his boys playing some mighty fine ball right now. Having said that, they are playing in the "Horseshoe" and that's worth a few points I suppose.

Penn. gave Michigan a half to get in the game last week and then came out and spanked 'em good. Should be a good game.........we'll see!:scared:

Apologies to mods for being off topic.:dunce::bowdown:
