First splits for me.

29.176
1:02.048

I ran these with TCS, but throttle control is a must, with or without TCS.

My splits after trying this without TCS were good, but I wanted to see what TCS would do to help. It did help about a 0.1 sec. But, I always find the no TCS is still faster. So I kept at it, and:

T1 - 28.313
T2 - 1'00.573

What a tank this car is! : )

Yup, TCS. :indiff:

But its my first session. :nervous:

I think this car brakes well with sport tires. :odd:

I would think they were made with drum brakes all around, but its a game........right? :D

GM started putting disk brakes on their higher performance cars in 1967. Even heavier duty trucks had them by 1970. And in my experience driving those trucks, the brakes are pretty good, for what they are.

I would say, the car handles well in general for this track. I'm just not used to this track in this direction, and the braking points and corner speeds change a lot, because of the hills.

Nice splits. 👍 👍

I finally got the big-o-thin to get up the hill along the river.:dopey: This was a lot of work:

T1 - 28.223
T2 - 1'00.365

I am PMing the final time, too. There's no more for me to find out there on that rollercoaster. Good job everyone. And keep at it. 👍

I gave it another spin (uh, well, a bit less spin, as I used TC this time)

T1: 28.562
T2: 1'01.188

....I am sure if a top driver showed up he would smash us all to pieces with TCS off.

Well Jake, I was able to improve my lap with TCS off, but I wanted to see what TCS ON would do after I figured out all the spin spots in this track without TCS. My DSP has a weird throttle lag that makes it hard to stop the tire spin once it gets going. So my final lap is with TCS ON. I found the best line and gear to use. It seems the HP drops off at top RPMs and time can be saved when you don't have to shift. I liked staying in 4th around the outside of this track. The inside can be done in 3rd only. I really had to stay off full throttle when the car went light, if TCS was off. :nervous:💡
This has been a great combo for learning throttle control. Thanks. 👍

First splits from captain slow ...

29.611
1.03.166

Great combo! Tho I need TCS, otherwise the car feels real sharp and racetyre-like [yummy] more laps to come surely :)

Yeah, same here. I can't recall the last time I drove here forward.

First splits from me:

28.826
1'02.088

Board updated.

Edit> I tried a few more laps, still with TC. It really does help to shift as little as possible. 👍

Hello again,

After moving to my own apartment and having my racing screen blow up, I am ready for more WRS action!

Just posting to see if I need to get my name back on a list before I post splits...

Thanks,

Bryan

I'm not going to have any more time to spend on this. Submitting current splits. Good luck to all still running!

Was not able to spend as much time on this as I would have liked, it was a nice combo, and the chances to use these old muscle cars are rare.

Final splits and submitting now -

28.536
1:01.432

Good luck to all. 👍

I submitted my lap last night, it had somewhat better splits (28.3xx / 1:00.6xx) but hardly any improvement in total laptime (horrible last sector).

Board updated.

Board updated with D1Racer_NZ now in Div3 and the new splits from 2078TM (nice improvement btw).
