Hello everyone, welcome to week 3 of the GT4 WRS. I hope everyone likes this week's combo. It's going to test your skills a bit more than last week, but that's how you learn to get better.:) Let's get those wheels a-slidin'! :trouble:

Driving Options: Driver's choice
Tranny: MT or AT
Driving Aids: Any
Tires: Sports (Any)

Quick Tune-up:

Full Tune: +20% hp, -10% kg​
(386 HP, 1260 kg)

Rules:



Only discuss "T" times​
Clean OLR Standards
2 wheels on track at all times
Rumble Strips are part of the track
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No hybrids
No Cheating of any kind
Save your best lap ghost
Submit the time listed in the ghost replay file name

Time Verification:
-The division 1 winner each week will be required to submit with verification.
-All divisions of racers are subject to a request of time verification, however, this does not mean all racers will be required to submit verification for each race.
-Once a request for the verification of a time has been made the racer in question must comply.
-Any request of verification must addressed by the racer in question with in 3 days of the request or the time in question will be removed from the database as well as the WRS results.

Deadline: Before Tuesday April 26th, 9:00am CST
No times will be accepted after Tuesday 8:00am CST = Tuesday 2:00pm GMT

Nice combo CFM, maybe not so nice in a week's time haha, but it's much more of a real world test with a more standard road car this week ... seeing the screenshot already makes me nervous ...

nice combo :). i have a good amount of experience in a lancer :).

gonna give it a crack soon.
 
Looks like another good one CFM. Don't have much experience on Autumn Ring, but I won't be able to say that next week!

Anyway, i cant say im thrilled at the prospect of trying to save time round the ring, but i do need the practice for a LAN party, so i guess this will help me immensely!

ACK ~ Quick look at my tracks.. and umm :yuck:

GL Nat ~ I maybe sitting the sideline if I can't get it unlocked (Missing 2 tracks in Original's) and my Max Drive not here to copy a file just for WRS reasons. :ouch:

If you do not have the track unlocked, you can quicky advance through the days to unlock them all by entering in and out of "Photo Travel" locations in Sim mode, or by purchasing "wheel of the day" in GT Auto, etc. Hopefully this won't be too big of a problem for most of you.
 
30 - 40 laps later!

understeer it does, but ill be damned it also oversteers. it cant make its mind up, a women must of designed it ;) (waits for flames :p)

Anywho enough jokeing around. Here are some nice T times for every man and his dog to crush to a pulp and make me feel slow for the 3rd week in a row.

T1: 26.636
T2: 1'01.816

Not sure how much can be taken out of those times, its still early days, but im guesing T2 of 1'00.xxx for the top guys

Lots of time to be made or lost in T3. Though I belive my T3 was fairly good.

Sounds good. But if I recall correctly, the Lancer tends to understeer..

Yes it will understeer, mainly when you get on the throttle too early and too hard. Patience when exiting the corner is the key here. The good thing is that you can really trail brake the car into the corner and get rather rowdy with it and not get in too much trouble. My split times from my testing session for a starting point:

27.235 / 1:02.911
 
Ok, first impressions on the combo.
GREAT FUN! The car is an absolute animal! Understeers, but under braking huge oversteer. The track is pretty technical too, so this isn't going to be an easy week for me. This combo is very good indeed 👍

i knew my times would be pounded to a pulp soon.

they are very nice times though.

do you slide your car into them 2 turns after T1? or do you drive normally?

Another few laps, last session better get to bed soon and i will race tommorow.

T1: 26.510 (ive seen mid to low 26.4xx)
T2: 1'01.452 (not sure if ive seen better as i cant look at it).

Improved overall by .303

will try more tomorow
 
I was going to skip wk3, but seeing that its Autumn Ring I'm just going to have to run it. Way back in 1999, Autumn Ring was used for my very first OLR. Has it really been that long. :crazy:
 
I'll sure be glad when we get far enough into GT4 to run some garage cars. This arcade stuff is killing me. :crazy:

Off to see how slow I am this week... :scared:
 
after about 20 laps i am finally getting the hang of the track and car. Braking points are specially important from what i have seen thus far. here are some T-times

I never played GT2 & always wondered what all the "Hoopla" was about. Too bad PD didn't use it more in GT4. Lord knows they love Fuji, Suzuka & Motegi however! :irked:

I WILL be sending you a bill for SEA-SICK PILLS however as this ride wallows about like a flat bottomed boat in a Typhoon! :sick: :sick: :sick: ...O.G. :D
 
Awh man, this car sounds perfect for my driving style, and I kind of like the track. CURSE YOU D.R.E.'s! WHY?!?! snif :(

Oh well. It looks like you arent allowed to be good in the WRS anymore unless you have a max drive or whatever. That, plus droping to D3, the appeal is almost gone for me now.
