Don't get too excited, the whole combo will only be posted during the week-end.
But since there is a car selection involved (from a pretty wide panel), I already post the car restrictions so that you can start looking into your garage for any matching car.
Edit : ok, the full combo is now posted, almost 2 days in advance on the normal schedule, so that you can test several cars before making your choice.

Okay I'm interested....👍

ciryl,
imho you need to be more precise about car selection.
i think you mean we can use cars NOT bought new or with only 10k.
is that correct?
eg i could buy a new car, run it for 11k's and select it for 68, but that will not be the idea, i think.
and: is a tuner car like the carbonR a road car or a race car?

I think I'll start doing some of the shorter endurance/Formula GT championship races. My coffer's are slowly being depleted by WRS.

- some of us use 100% game saves featuring 0km cars ;
- some cars can be purchased at 10.0 km (6.2 miles).
Both are forbidden this week, unless of course you have already run several thousands kilometers. The idea is that all engines have to be worn so that nobody has an unfair advantage before the race even starts.

As for the Amuse CarbonR, it's a tuning car which can only be purchased in the Tuners section : so no, it's not legal this week.
The car has to be a road car purchased from one the 3 used cars lots.

ok thanks mr wrs steward, that clears up a lot to me.
but as i have all used cars lot in my garage it will still need some sorting out. which is gonna be part of the fun for this weeks wrs!

I think this is the week that I finally get an Uber save. But then I have to worry about which one has the 0km cars & such. Decisons... decisons...

And damn. For once I wish there'd be a power limit. Because I think infinite power for a V6 leads everyone to the same group of cars. Maybe if we limit the power to 500hp (tuned) or something, it would still have all of the cars eligible, but the tuning war wouldn't be the focus of the week.

And by limiting the power, it also puts emphasis on the chasis rather than whats the biggest turbo you can rape your engine with.

He dose have a good point

I thank thats a good point also but what about every one thats already put alot of time in to finding a good. If you set a limit now all that time would be wasted.:(

It is a good point, unfortunately setting a max power at 500hp doesn't increase the number of eligible cars significantly. (I won't tell any accurate figures so early in the week). And instead of looking for the car with the max power, people will be looking for the car with the less weight, which is exactly the same as far as the tuning war is concerned.
And we can always have another race with an open choice and a maximum power later this year.

I'm just trying to avoid there being five cars that are capable of 800hp+ making the rest of field uncompetitive. I dunno, I want to expand the field of cars that can be competitive by limiting the maximum power of a few that have extremely high outputs. Perhaps we could simply allow everything except for Stage 4/original turbos?

I just think that by opening the floodgates as far as power upgrades are concerned. We are limiting the number of cars that can keep the pace of those select few.

What about the RX-7? Why I ask is because the engine is equal to a 6 cylinder.

is this really that difficult??

1. purchased in the used car lots = true
2. cylinder count = 6

those are the only rules... and they're VERY black and white.

oh, and for NTSC people, you will find these handy:

Meh I wouldnt compare a 1.3l Renesis rotory to a v-6... More like a hyped up lawn mower.....

another stupid question from me. 'unless of course you have already run several thousands kilometers'.
does this mean i CAN use 10k cars from the used cars lot, but only if i have worn it down myself?

otherwise it's great fun diving into the car selection discipline again. so far i have pinpointed 3 Japanese and one europ car with ptw's below 2.5 that would do nicely. probably all of the wrs bunch will jump on the far-east wheels so i might just hop into the other. well i guess it all depends on the track cyril will select for us.

suggestion to cyril - if you want us not to discuss what cars to use please add that to the thread rules for the week.

We can discuss what car we are using.
That will probably result in 80% or racers using the same car (as it has always happened in such races), but it's up to each racer to decide what is worth being said and what is best kept secret.

Rotaries do not use 6-cylinder engines, so no there's not legal this week.

And if in the end everybody uses the same 5 cars, well, that's already better than only one car. The plan is not to have 50 different cars this week (as is has been for week 45), but rather to have racers explore their garage and tune and test to see which cars are eligible and which one they prefer to tune and run the race.

Unless you've driven 10,000km on a 10km then no. But then you lose all the advantages of having a 10km car in the first place. So might as well save yourself the time and just buy a normal used car.

There won't be many cars in the running this week I don't think. Supra's and Skylines will make up a lot of the numbers, since both can be Stage 4 turboed to 800/900hp. I only hope the course is nice and tight ..We've already done that little Motorland track with the Ginetta, I can't remember what it's called, but that'd be the perfect track. Anything with a straight and those will just blow everyone away.

even on a small course its basically "pick your favorite skyline" week.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it the RX-8 that has the 1.3 litre Wankel Rotary engine?

Supra's, TVR's (lots of fun, and light), skylines, at least one Jag (I think) and quite a few more.

As Cyril said, we don't know what the race is yet. Power may not be the answer this week, but I hope it's a race round a Long track where they can stretch their legs a bit.

Le Sarthe, the Ring (doubtful), midfield, suzuka, etc, etc.

Neil

^ Remember they have to be available at the used car lots. Brand new cars purchased from the dealer are not eligible.

Well, it will be a "pick-a-skyline/supra" week. Dammit.

Gotta go check out if any used TVR reaches good power and ratio. Or some other thing...

But really, why not 500HP limit? If the limit would exist, it would help NA'ed cars, as well as lower-power cars compete. Skylines and Supras are the only real choice, I think. They have a minimum advantage of about 200HP (goes up to 350HP against, say, the NSX or the Lancer). So how about restricting? It'd vary the field and the choice - a short-wheelbase car like the Clio would rule on technical tracks, if the opposition is power-matching.

We will have a race with a power limit soon, but not this week.
The eligible cars panel is wide enough, and the settings will make the difference this week.

Nope your right, the style of the motor is the Wankel, but Mazda's line is called the RENESIS. Kinda like Chevy having their VORTEC or Dodge havinbg their HEMI, they add their own special touch to the engine.

My RZ Supra puts 844HP (Original Turbo) through R5s currently. The Skyline 912HP through R3s. But I'm looking for an alternative. I don't want the Skyline. The Supra is still, somehow, ok, but not enough.
I'll look at my TVRs and other cars. Maybe they'll do better... I'd love to have a Griffith with enough power...

Precicely what I was trying to avoid. Well that and Supra. And a few other cars, which happen to be in my garage now. But this week, depending on the track, I've been testing two NA cars that are brutally fast. No they're not 800hp. But hopefully I can get away with 600 and tune it properly.

Now all I have to do is wait until Week 23 in the used car lot so that I can get my 3rd choice. Funny how the only times I ever go Used car shopping the black beasts show up. And both times I don' think it was on purpose.

I look every week, to check if some Renault 5 or Peugeot 205 appears. Still haven't got the Renault and that '73 Skyline GT-R...

What's that third choice? I'm searching for anything that is non-Skyline and non-Supra, but I might end up using the Supra...
