Despite the fact that we had 2 races in 1, the times are very close to each other, so congrats to the usual suspects 👍
But first, I'll tell you the story behind this race.

I had planned to use Apricot forward and reverse initially, but in race cars with similar p/w ratios. But then I realized that we would be coincidentally running the same track forward and reverse on week 69, and that was too cheap a joke IMO, so I decided to postpone that race to later and post something else.
Until Casio asked for a sexy race ; then I changed my mind and decided to post the forward+reverse combo anway, and went looking for a title that would say everything but that nobody would understand :trouble:
After some googling around, I found "Congress of the Crow" (just google that ;) ). I added an 's' to Crow to obfuscate it a bit, and start looking for cars that are available in black color only, so that there would be a immediate reference to the crows in the title and so that people don't start to wonder what the title was meaning. I chose first the 190E because it's an enjoyable car to drive, second the Buick because it's black too and has the same p/w ratio as the 190E. I made a pic where the black cars are sort of talking to each other (Congress) while being placed as the figures 6 and 9 in 69, which Dr_Watson spotted.
And that's it. You now have the advanced explanation :D

Week 69 Results :

Replay posting :
Gold times in each division are requested to provide a replay.
Please post your replay before the week-end so that everything can be checked before the next race ends.
Posted replays will be attached to this post (after having been converted to .max format when necessary).

Quick guide to replay checking :
  1. check the race summary, note down the car power and tyres.
  2. look a first time at the replay from the farthest top view (R1 R1 as soon as the race starts, X if you need to switch to the outside cam)
  3. look a second time at the replay from the same view but reverse (press L1)
  4. if you suspect a third wheel off track, freeze the replay (Select button) to enter photomode.
  5. if you suspect a contact with wall or AI, check the data logger for any weird pike (speed drop) under full throttle

Flat-out

Until Casio asked for a sexy race ; then I changed my mind and decided to post the forward+reverse combo anway, and went looking for a title that would say everything but that nobody would understand

Well. Good to see you guys are finally coming to terms with the fact that I'm always right and you should always listen to me!

But I can't find where I requested a 'sexy' race. I found one where Andy wanted one. But it's all cool Cyril, I understand that someone who thinks of me that much might inadvertently put my name in....

It's true I did say that...feel free to take out your anger in my avatar :sly:

It was some nice combo's, Cyril. After a couple of sessions both cars were actually fun to drive. :D

Congrats to hollo, gyro and casio for the overall podiums. And to SH for his div 2 win and and Kyle for the podiums and to rocko for his div 3 win. Nice racing, guys. 👍

And thanks to all racers for some close and exiting racing during the week. :)

Thanks to Weary for the continuing hard work with updating leaderboard. 👍

Checked Weary's replays.

Both very clean and otherwise OK.

Nice smooth racing. 👍

what happened on your ending casio, I usually do bad on the endings

I woulda did the cars opposite directions, but my Buick reverse was bad after T2, and I had trouble with the Merc Forward ending.

Awesome! 👍👍👍 Now if only I could give you a tick for being so clever(sp? That doesn't look right)...

I agree on all accounts!(tick) Except, congrats to YOU on your second place, very well done man! Thanks! I'll get my replays up tonight or so, gtg to work for now.

Excellent results by everyone involved! 👍
A great race combo from Cyril!
Reminds me why I like WRS events, but sadly I don't have enough time to compete as regularly as I'd like. :grumpy: Just bought a new apartment so I'll be all tied up with moving soon, no GT4 for a few weeks :scared: so I'll go back to rusting up in a corner somewhere! :p
Replays will have to come later, my parents are occupying the spare room where my PS2 lives at the moment. ;)

Well done guys, some good close times out there. 👍

5th out of 12 division 2 submissions is a really good result for me so I'm well chuffed with that, even if it was knocked back by some last minute sessions. :( (👍 Kyle).

Within four seconds of the mighy Holl01 too, thats not bad over two laps? Not bad for a retired driver either. ;)

I'll get the replays up later.

Wheres Neil?.........He He He.

Heres my replays, max drive behaved third time i tried today. Its a shame i had just spent an hour the day before aswell with no result.

EDIT: Ive just realised to my amazement, that 9th place gives me 30points (i think) putting me at exactly 1000 on the leaderboard overall :cheers:

Yeah I just cracked the 2000 mark...yay! Thanks for checking my laps too NielsG. I'll do some replay checking on the weekend 👍

Yeah I just cracked the 2000 mark...yay!
Congratulations

Now just 1400 more and top spot is yours

Although looking at it, on the current leaderboard. 4 out of the top 5 overall points are held by Australians (Although probably not accurate, I'd think people like Curtis would have more). And 4 out the top 5 ranked over the past 8 weeks are Australian.

Must be in the water.

PS: Any way Cyril to see the leaderboard of the most points through all of GT4 WRS?

It's not the water, it's the ancestry. You all think you're driving get-away cars.

Bloody crims. :D

J/K Don't hurt me.....

times are alot tighter than i was expecting...

mad respect to holl and kart... your Moo-Ick times totally smoked me.
I couldn't get close to those 1st sector numbers.

Just verified Dr_Watson's NTSC replay files.
Clean & clear, although the Buick does ride right on the edge of the kerb through the sandtrap chicane on the reverse lap! Double and triple checked it though and there's kerb contact throughout, so its clean. 👍

Tried to do GPKart's too, but something weird is going on with his files.
I can download them fine, transfer to them to the MAX Drive fine, uncrush them to the memory card and view them on the memory card through the MAX Drive software. I can view them through PS2 browser complete with pictures, as GT4 Ghost Replay [7] & GT4 Ghost Replay [19], but in GT4 Replay Theatre, the files just don't appear at all! It's really strange, :boggled: since I've mistakenly uncrushed PAL files before, but they're recognised by the Replay Theatre, but have no preview picture and won't play. GPKart's files are on the memory card since I can delete the files from the browser and space is freed up when I do, but the Replay Theatre refuses to acknowledge they're there! I've tried them twice, downloaded directly to the MAX Drive, and uncrushed, and copied them from where they were downloaded to the hardrive, and they behave the same both times.
Sorry GPKart but you may have to upload those files again. :guilty:

Aha! That explains a bit, I went by the indicator in post #1 that says you're on NTSC, so I downloaded your files too. If they're actually in PAL format then it might explain why I couldn't see them at all. :dunce:
Sorry, my fault. :guilty: You'll have to wait for another PAL runner to check them instead since it's not possible for NTSC to view PAL and vice versa. :(

If you could fill in some information in your profile, such as your location, that'd help us determine where you're from and who should be looking out for you. Otherwise a line in your signature saying something like "WRS Div. 1 PAL" would also be useful. 👍

Was trying for 15 minutes earlier tonight, couldn't get the stupid Maxdrive disc to load up... I'll try again tomorrow.

Sorry Nick for the wrong indication next to GPKart's replays. I usually know if I can check someone's replays (then he's PAL) or not (then he's NTSC), and I was pretty sure that I had never checked GPKart's replays.

yeah, i had to use photomode before i was sure it was submitable.
glad for the second opinion. 👍

Checked shockwave's replays:

Mercedes reverse is clean. Great lap too 👍 - now I can begin to see where I was losing time. :ouch:
(I clearly made too many unnecessary gear changes and botched the long right before T2 amongst other things)

However, the forward replay is another Mercedes lap (a 1'31.829) - must have got them mixed up somewhere along the way, which isn't hard at all with that unbelievably shoddy maxdrive software coupled with GT4's impenetrable replay naming "system". :banghead:
