:: GT4 WRS Week 95 ::
We will be pulling our hair out at Deep Forest Reverse this week. Finding a decent track for this week’s car has been difficult because most have been used recently. However, I’m sure the fun of driving the Lotus Motor Sport Elise ’99 around this track will make up for any hair loss we may encounter.

another great combo from jerry. well done!
df is, as always, a great track to visit. that concrete slab around t2 is usually the big breaker, but as the elise is a vey tailhappy go-kart that might be solvable.
good luck to all this week, especially all the (div3!) newbies.
ps. look at the car pic and see the car smiling you in your face :)

-10 weight on an Elise? I'll try it out, but I'm not sure I'm gonna be as interested in it as others.

if i remember correct from the last time i drove this car, it was a snap-tastic little weapon, that required a fairly steady hand to get the best from it... and that use any tarmac comment is interesting too...

some splits to start with

23.650 (23.547)
52.675 (52.572)

would like to find another 0.2-0.3 to be happy this week i think...

Love Deep Forest, I'll have a spin again this week, see if I can get a silver :scared:

You're correct. 👍
Although it runs well on Deep Forest, I was testing it on Suzuka East and it was a joy to drive there. However, it was only after deciding that this would be the combo for week 95, I noticed that there were no damn splits on the track. :dopey:

I raced this car in the forward direction for BC 6. Flippin loved it...

EDITED

My first splits:

23.669
52.652

Hope to get back on it later.

Nice. From a little stint in LAN mode this past weekend, I found that this car had some braking issues compared to what I would've thought, but here we are in regular arcade mode where things are usually better. With more power though.

But it's Deep Forest. :D

We'll see how it goes!

Hey mates, can i join to this race?
Sorry for my bad english.

Hi Alex, welcome to the WRS. I'll PM you with the details you will need to run this race. 👍

Nice combo! This is one twitchy unit, tons of body roll, gotta be just right over the tops of the hills or things get ugly fast. Staying off the grass at the exit of turn 1 is going to be tough when running a flying lap.

Another super combo, Jerry. 👍

The Elise is a blast to drive and DF reverse is the track for it. :D

For session gave a lot of fun and:

24.057
53.673

With my girlfriend out of town for the week I am doing the 1000 miles! (in European events) and then was going to try to do one of the 24hr endurance races (3 8hr shifts after work). But this looks like a lot of fun so I might do this instead. Just have to finish the last 2 races of 1000 miles! Maybe after 99 laps at Cote d' Azur I'll have a better apreciation for that track.

J. is for Jeep Jeep Jetta Jeep

One of my all time favorite cars!

Actually had the pleasure of getting a ride in one with Lotus Development Engineer, Gavan Kershaw, on their Hethel Test Track in Norfolk. That guy has Mad Skills! Here's a linky thingy to a video that will give you some idea of what it was like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPsywA5soAE

He went into the tire wall chicane flat-out :scared: , only stabbing the brakes slightly to get some front-end bite.

There's a 360 degree loop at one end of the track that he went around twice in a full drift, bouncing off both the steering stop & rev limiter the whole time, all the while calmly explaining to me how he was doing it.

By the way, my best splits so far: 0'24.442, 0'54.496.

24.057

Holy cow :scared: I'm behind........a lot...............again

24.294
54.365

Day 1 times:
24.685
54.550

Edit: Invalid for following reason

Week 95 Race Specifics:
Feel free to exploit any tarmac, concrete or cobblestone areas, except for the large concrete areas just before and after T2

So, how are we supposed to take that turn?

Its necessary from an admin standpoint to eliminate cheating, or the temptation of it. But agreed the Elise is like 50lbs to start with, lol.

After a first session i've managed:

0'23.573 (.329)
0'52.965 (.322)

Will give it an other try tomorrow.
Alex

Edit: After a few more laps:

0'23.497
0'52.497

After getting a feel for it I'm at 23.832/53.230. Gave up a bunch in the tight left before T2. Might try snapping a few pics now.

First let me say that unfortunately this will be my last week racing. Changes are being made and as of monday i'll be having to get up around 5 o'clock in the morning, which means no more late nights, and thusly no more time for the wrs. havent had a chance to give this one a go yet but i'm about to hop in the saddle. looking forward to competing in division 2 this week and hopefully i can give you guys a run for your money. :sly:

:scared:

Tricky combo to get to grips with .. but after a few laps it grows on you :)

best save has .. 23.387 / 52.224

I've been slightly faster at both splits and lost a couple of tenths in the last section .. will try again before the deadline 👍

Now i know what you guys mean by breaking issues. sheesh, talk about understeer. but it gives you just the right amount of tail out under throttle, just how i like em. this is proving to be a fun week.

Innitial Splits:

T1: 24.264
T2: 54.292

[EDIT]
A new, verry sloppy (but clean) lap. but unfortunately i didnt shave much off the finish.

T1: 24.069
T2: 53.541

i've seen as good as 23.8 for T1. as of right now my goal is to duplicate that T2 with a good final sector. after that, we'll see.

[EDIT2]
just saw a 23.8 and a 53.3 on a slightly dirty lap.

First clean lap:

T1: 0`23.772
T2: 0`53.101

If I get some more time I'll be looking for another second 👍
