I don't think so. I've heard it might come out in fall, or later this summer. But I don't have a PSP, nor do I want one, so I'm not 100% sure.
 
Nah, coming out first of septembre. i'd ordered a psp from japan, really cool, becaus otherwise i had to wait till the 1st of sept, damn sony for 'not having much european psp's' ... ah well, downloaded the US manual.. movies on it are great, have to convert it to MP4 first but that's easy with iPSP... photos are great of quality, music is also a great option, and gaming, yeah, it's heaven. i have ridge racers(don't buy it, after a week it's no fun anymore) and nfsu rivals(great fun, but drifting sucks lol) and thug2 is the max! if you guys have questions about the psp, maybe i can answer.... and the background changes every month :D

Yeah, I have some, Im going to Hong Kong to buy a PSP which will probably mean that it is the Japanese version, like yours........

Where do you download the US manual from?
The PSP is region free when it comes to games, right?
Does it come with a pouch, headphones, memory card etc etc...?
Is it possible to convert AVI videos to play on it?
Can you buy blank UMD's to put stuff on?
How's the battery life?
Does the Japanese one play only NTSC region one UMD movies?
Which game would you recommend I purchase first? (as you said ridge racers is boring (its the same as ridge racer 5, which I own!).

Ridge Racers is not the same as R5. Its a compilation of past tracks but only 12(blah) and no downloadable conten like Wipeout Pure No you cant buy blacnk UMD's. Battery life for UMD games is about 4 hours but whos gonna play 4 hours. A new Battery made by Sony(2x the power) will be out soon but there is one going around already.

BUY Lumines, it doesnt take advantage of the hardware but its a fun game that you'll play over and over. If you are interested in emu's PM me. I'm trying to beat Mega Man 2 right now :). Pay no attention to Drifster he's a SCEI hater.
 
The Value Pack comes with a soft pouch, headphones, wriststrap (white!!) and a 32Mb Memory Stick.

There is a downloadable program called PSP Video 9 which will I believe convert most formats of video to a format suitable for the PSP. You need at least a 512 Mb Memory Stick to make full use of the video and mp3 facilities. The video quality will determine the amount of space required for a movie. A high quality "transfer" of a 2 hour movie will take up about 700 Mb but that can be reduced by lower quality. I have noticed a similar lenght movie at about 450 Mb (enough to fit on a 512 Mb card).

A Japanese PSP will only play Japanese and (most likely due to them being the same DVD region) UK movie releases on UMD.

I have played American and Japanese games on my Japanese PSP. When you want to put in a game from another region, you must do a full shutdown by holding the on/off switch in the off position for a few seconds, rather than just ending the game using the "Home" (I think) button and saying you want to quit and going into standby which is done my "flicking" the switch into the off position.
 
Video 9 is great program. I'd also say 512 is good for movies even though can get a 2 hour movie on a 256 stick it will be very low quality but for TV shows a 256 is good, but animated TV shows can run a 15fps and it wont be noticed, you can get 4-5episodes on a 256 stick.

I dont have a 512 yet, but 256 is good for game data, mp3s(whole CD@128 90MBs) and emu's without the need for a second stick. its good to have 2, one for media and one for games.
 
I recommend THUG2. Verry good game. If you don't play story mode you just play around and get new tricks. Especially special is cool!
 
Lik Sang says that it's coming out 1st of Sept. And I think it is becaus 4years ago Sony said they would bring out the PSP, why would they do 4years for a low polygon version of GT4? Also, the name is GT Mobile..
 
Hmm... Ah well just wait and see I think, I hope it's the 1st of Sept. Also the EU PSP id coming out on 1st of sept...

I've pre-ordered my PSP from Game and got their pre-order pack, and GT4 Mobile is not coming out on the 1st Septemer, it's not on their list of games coming out then.

On wich list?? The USA GT4 Mobile is coming 1st of Sept.. Well, that is what LS said..

Ah, what a shame! G.T you don't need to take the pic, I believe you. March, lol too far away. I hope that the US version is coming 1st of Sept.. I'll just order that with the UMD spindle with it so I don't have to pay shipping costs. Anyone saw screenshots of the game?

i saw that screenshot but i doubt the graphics are that good. the fact i know the graphics are in between the PS1 and PS2 and no way its better than the PS2 or equilvalent.

PS1 and PS2? Are you crazy? Don't you realize how crappy that is? It's a small screen, now way it could be that worse... Even NFSU Rivals is better then. I hope they make this one really cool with the controls caus I suck without steering wheel haha :crazy: Also, it would be sick if you can drift on your PSP :dopey:
 
You know why I think the GT4 Mobile has been delayed so much even though the game is really made already (refurring to PS2 version, all they really have to do is drop the resolution)? They're waiting for Sony to uncap their PSP's CPU from 222mhz to full speed, 333mhz. I think they might not be able to run it on 2/3rd's the power, so they have to wait.
 
What the? The PSP isn't running on the full engine now. They said it was able to do more even though the PSP isn't running on full RPM (or something..). But if they power up the CPU then we all have to buy a new PSP?? Btw, I have got lag with NFSU Rivals some times..

No, you should be able to download some software off the internet when Sony releases it to raise the speed to normal.

There are some emulators you can download now to un-cap your PSP (not from Sony), but that can't be discussed here I don't think.

I don't really trust software that is not from Sony.. I hope GT4M isn't as laggy as NFSU Rivals is...
