Heya GT players,

Was curious to know your opinions on GT5 running in 3D?

I just bought a 51" 3D television and gotta say GT5 looks a treat in premium car cockpit view! Just need a top of the line steering wheel/pedals etc.. Now =P

Thoughts?

Cheers!

I think it would look pretty cool, especially in a multi-monitor setup. But... my head would likely start to hurt after an hour or so, the whole "it's 3D but not real 3D" thing... and the novelty would probably wear off after a few weeks and I'd start longing for a good "old-fashioned" HDTV LOL Enjoy your new TV.

3D Just doesn't do it for me mate.
From watching movies to playing online games, the picture is just not clear enough.
Seems blurry compared to High Def 1080P 2D.

I'd invest if it were like an IMAX 3D.

Actually it's really cool. It really takes getting used to at first but once you do it's really awesome. The best is going on a rally events or just driving through the grass on a course and all the blades of grass or pellets of dirt come flying at you. Someone said how the picture gets blurry, but for me, and maybe it's just the fact of a dofferent TV brand or TV quality, it makes the picture almost sharper. To me I love playing in 3D.

The PS3 back converts to 720p in 3D. So you lose a touch of resolution (because of the refresh rate bandwidth demands) but with the images sent to both eyes, it still appears very sharp. The 3D depth of field, especially in the cockpit view, will have your heart racing (too). From the grandstand view, the 3D effects are minimal, but still interesting.

I have a Sharp XV-Z17000 1080p 3d DLP projector that I play on. It projects to a 54" H x 96" W screen. It is amazing in 3D. Add to that the bass shakers in the seats and those red & white speed strips are very realistic.

The only drawback is the amount of data that your eyes have to consume and interpret. It can get a little dizzying if you're not careful. As the opener caution posts, you need to take frequent breaks to let your eyes rest.

I race both ways: 1) in 3D mode, and 2) 2D 1080p.
