GT5 after PSN outage is over

Every month, GT5 has a minor and major update (usually.) Considering that the PSN was down for almost a month now, it makes you think "Has Polyphony Digital taken this opportunity to update GT5 or it's servers?" Since the PSN was down for almost a month, you would think that this is a great opportunity to improve the GT5 servers considering that everyone cannot get on their servers. So do you guys think when PSN is back online that GT5 will have an update ready for us by then? I hope so, because all through April, the servers were really laggy and I couldn't hold races with more than 6 people or else it would " black screen" the race. Tell me what you guys think.

I hope so as well. The last few weeks before the outage I was having trouble with my microphone cutting in and out when more than 6-8 players were in the room. Races starting sounding like Verizon ads with everyone going "can you hear me now?"

I never had any lag issues though. A few people in my group had some lag but it was pretty obvious it was their connection since no one else had trouble.

You can receive patches and updates without the PSN.

Nope. There have been two for Shift 2, and I downloaded the 1.09 patch for GT5 the other day, so its definitely possible.

If there is no patch it's because PD doesn't have one ready, not because the PSN is down.

Didn't have problems with online play. I remember playing online with nine other drivers on the nurburing, without problems.. Must be your internet provider..

I think the developers WILL wait 'till SONY gets PSN back up. Don't want effort goin' to waste do we?

The rooms I typically play in were all running into serious problems in April in regards to stability (microphone problems too), but they generally weren't laggy.

I agree completely it would be awesome if PD and Sony rolled out something special for being so patient.

Like taking away two of your Bobs, because they feel it's too easy to earn credits with Remote B-Spec racing. That's the sort of 'updates' I've come to expect from PD.

My best cars and my best Bobs are stuck online all these days.We cannot trade cars and we haven't received any paints/museum cards due to the outage.If PD won't make it up for us in ALL those areas, then they are to be shamed imho!
