Even though I grew up 2 miles from the Indy500, I never really got into the NASCAR thing. As I am ignorant to NASCAR I have a couple complaints and questions. Am I wrong or do NASCARs only race on "oval" tracks? This has irritated me since I first played GT5. These latest seasonal evens sparked my irritation again while trying to race Suzuka Circuit and Rome. Given, while it was fun...you could definitely tell the car was NOT built to race those tracks. Why did PD model these cars to a "T" and then throw them were they dont belong? It just feels as if they stole the soul and tradition of NASCAR. What do you guys think...specifically the fans. Does this annoy you as well or am I on my own? The only reason I could see them doing this, is the simple fact that there is only 2 oval tracks in GT5 and that people might get bored. Personally though, I think Id rather race the same couple tracks w/ different difficulties several times instead of racing one circuit track.

NASCARs have race on Watkins Glen, Infineon Raceway and Montreal. I know this as I have been following NASCAR for a long time now.

They also held an exhibition at Suzuka, I think in 1996. It was won by none other than Jeff Gordon. Yes though they mostly run on oval tracks.

To me it doesn't really bother me where the seasonals are. I think they are relatively close to where they would run in real life since there are only two NASCAR sanctioned tracks in the game I
Glad they used the ones they did.

They've also raced a road course in Mexico City. I think the name was Fundadora.

Actually, Rusty Wallace won the Suzuka event in 1996, Jeff Gordon finished 3rd

Damn it gigabyte3. Welcome to GTPlanet, a home for people who love GT and then those other people. You're right though. And Dale Earnhardt Jr won 2nd. I didn't even know those two existed in NASCAR back then. Really cool to have Jeff Gordon in the game. Such a nice fellow, full of drive, just like Kaz.

Very nice! Someone joked, "NASCAR on Suzuka? haha haha ha haha haaaa."
Basically is what he said.

The Twin Ring Motegi, in Japan, also hosted a race in 1998, which Mike Skinner won. if anyone wanted to know....:)

Only if the Twin Ring were in GT5. joking

I really enjoyed that track. Something about it made me like it a lot.

Dale Jr. only ran in the 1998 race at Twin ring, and finished 6th. His father Dale Sr. finished second in the 1996 Suzuka race.

Also, worth mentioning, the Suzuka exhibitions were run on the Suzuka East course, which would explain the seasonal time trial that was there a few weeks ago.

Nice. I just read Earnhardt and figured it was Jr. I forgot Sr. was a NASCAR driver. NASCAR isn't my second language but I have a great respect for it.

Very good stuff. Imagine all the NASCAR fans that realized that, but aren't a part of this site.

Darn!! I thought Gordon won that. Thanks, I didn't know that.

That really does surprise me that they race circuit tracks too...seems weird lol. Well, hopefully since Im more informed now that it wont irritate me. Thanks guys

Nascar is awesome and that latest seasonal was sweet. I'm just sad I couldn't use my #14 in the seasonals lol.

Wish they had #17 but they don't so #99 works. To bad you don't do a back flip when you win like Edwards does.
