GT5 Backup

Hey guys, recently my ps3 has been turning off. I believe this due to overheating. For example, i would be playing a game for about 15 minutes and the ps3 shuts off by itself and then there is a red light blinking. I fear my ps3 is about to die. :nervous:

I want to save my games progress but i've been reading that transfer of backups of gt5 to another ps3 is not possible. I've spent an insane amount of time on gt5 and really do not want to lose it. I'm level 39 B spec, level 36 A spec.

So my question is, is there any way to back up the gt5 saved game, either through a harddrive or maybe even Playstation Plus online backup? Would either work for backing it up to another ps3? Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated guys and i say thanks in advance
 
You can use the playstation plus online storage to your advantage!! Simply save your current data to the online storage, then when you have the new ps3.. Use your current account details to set up your old account WITH your GT5 data nice and safe!! How do I know.. I did the exact same thing with my girlfriend ps3 :)
 
or copy the save to a Flash Drive. Just make sure the system's user name is the same as the old one or it'll overwrite the save.

EDIT: I am in the middle of a 24 Le Mans. Any idea if i will need to exit that before backing up to playstation plus?
