Idea:
Trading cars in GT5 via a browser.
Reason:
Not everyone can access their PS3 at certain times of the day.
Can also trade while running a B-Spec race.
Useful for trading while running Endurance races.
Can check you have a certain car before making a trade deal with someone for a future date.
How it works:
I think its quite simple really, in principle.
At present you can already sign in to the Gran Turismo website and view your profile, custom tracks, your cars etc. It would be best to add a new section to this website where once signed in you are able to trade the cars you own in GT5.
Of course this would require being able to view every car you own without having to set specific ones to online to avoid any hassle. The best way around this would be to allow you view your cars owned in a browser.
The section would be fairly small and something on the side, like a "Gift a Friend" button. Once clicked you're provided with a list of the cars in your garage, preferably with thumbnails to avoid confusion. Select the car to gift, press next. Select which friend to gift the car to and click gift. Confirmation message shows up asking: Are you sure you want to gift "car X" to "person Y"? Hit ok and the car is gifted.
Receiving cars can only be done on the PS3 but you can view received gifts online, which can already be done.
Possible problems:
The garage update would be slightly slow. It can take up to 24hrs for any new cars won/bought/opened in PS3 via Car Exchange to show up in the online garage. This is how the site linked earlier works now though. It is slightly delayed.
Sending a gift would be instantaneous, but receiving it may be delayed. It could work like email though making it pretty much instant.

Duplicating cars when trading would need to be done on PS3 if you plan on doing so.
The idea would work better if the possibility of trading more than one car a day was be possible.
The idea could also be made to work with Items as well.
