Rather rip out my eyes!!
Hi GTP people.
I have just got the game today but cant seem to get my clutch to work can any body help me ?
Sorry if this has been asked already I scanned back but could not see any other topic on the clutch and I could not find a search bar.

many thanks.

Just press the clutch and it's enabled, press the paddle shifter and it's disabled.

Thanks for the reply but I tried that I pressed on the clutch and nothing happened do I need to press it before the race or something ?.

Not me. What wheel are you trying to use?

I use a G25 wheel, when I start the race the clutch is dead no matter how many times I press it down.
I have even tried pressing the triangle button like in prologue and still nothing:nervous:

The clutch will only work with wheels that have the clutch pedal- both the Logitech G25 and G27 where the only thing you need to do is as few people have pointed, press the clutch pedal. I'm sure the same applies to Fanatec wheel/pedal setup with clutch. You can't enable clutch with wheels like the DFGT because it has no clutch. And you definitely can't define clutch if you're using DS3 or Sixaxis controller.

Make sure you have the dial (on the shifter console) set on the H-pattern shifting (not sequential).

I am of course assuming your in Manual Transmission of course?
Like everyone else said just press it and it works. (Don't worry I pressed triangle the first few times too until I realised it was just a matter of using)

I use the g25 and all I do is switch into H pattern and press the clutch and its activated.

Thanks every one I sorted it bit of a thick moment for me there is a problem with my shifter in in 6 speed mode so I left it out of 6 speed mode and that was stopping my clutch working.
This should be put in one of the sticky threads as I can see this catching a good few people out and in turn will fustrate some of the people that have to keep explaining the same thing over and over.

Nah there is no need for pressing Triangle in GT5. You press the clutch and it just works. Shift on the paddles and it will deactivate. No magic button combos. It is much easier and "better" implemented then Prologue.

Edit: Ah just caught your post. Yeah I flip it to Sequential for cars that use it(Like my Z06 RM for example) That would definitely deactivate it.

Also note that the clutch doesn't work in every car - basically it only works in cars that actually have clutches.
