Do you ever have a moment on GT5 when your enthusiasm for the game suddenly comes alive again?

Tonight I stumbled across the Toscana Lamborghini Seasonal Race.

What a beautiful experience it was....sun setting, while I blast around in the Murceliago on an amazing banked, swooping circuit.

Fantastic!

I love GT5 :)

GT5 comes alive again for me every time I find a good lobby online. People racing clean, being courteous, and being respectful while at the same time racing you hard, where one mistake will leave you vulnerable. Those are the times when I can play for hours and wonder where my weekend went.

Funnily enough, the Red Bull thingy doesn't do much for me. I tend to like cars that are not really slow and not really fast. They give me the most satisfaction to bring around a track.

The Ferrari F430 is my favourite of all. Beautifully smooth to drive, with the the back end kicking out jussssssssssst enough to handle!

I'm absolutely hooked on GT5 now, just as I was on GT4 and GT3

I've had a break for about 3 months from GT5 now...

And now when I come back, its like day one again... I feel very happy about playing GT5 again...

Everytime a good seasonal appears the game takes a 360 degrees spin for me... :)

That race you mention BTW, is my top favourite of the game, I love it :D That's how all racetracks in the game should be... 👍

My thoughts exactly.

I started B-spec, then raced F1 non top after that and just grinded seasonals and got bored as hell. I'd still play everyday but only to do the amg and any new seasonals. Well, last night I started karting in a really good online room. Hours later and a realization that it was 2am and I had to wake up in 5 hours made me turn the ps3 off but damn it was fun. When you get some experienced guys who have actually raced karts before and a host who will listen to the other drivers, karts become one of, if not the best, driving experience in the game.

I had this moment when I tried rallying after purchasing a wheel, COMPLETELY different experience and quite fun.

different things, finding new seasonals like old supercars in Nurburgring , and putting old favorites to good use is one of them

for some reason it happen to me alot , but sometimes i get mad because there is no new things small update only , but still i get exciting just like the old days ( when gt5 was in the markets ) .

i dont know why that happen to me but i like it and now i'm under exciting & enthusiasm condition .

GT5 comes alive every time I switch the PS3 on :D It's my only game, and it's the only game I want to own!!

Seriouly though, I meant it when I said it comes alive everytime I switch it on, as said above, finding that perfect room on your favourite track (Nurb Nord for me btw) with a mix of cars from hot hatches to muscles cars to super cars to race cars and everybody being courteous, clean, and having a great laugh at the same time is what its all about!

I spent god know how many hours yesterday morning on GT5 in such a room with a bunch of Americans and a couple of Canadians, and I left after numerous hours feeling quite good about myself :D Not to mention I have opened up a whole new way to control the brakes with ABS switched off!

LONG LIVE GT!!!

I think the big bucks Seasonals have kept me interested - it means I can do what I want without get stuck at a certain level. For example In GT4 I reached a point where I needed an expensive supercar to compete but had no enthusiasm for repeating long b-spec races.

I've had a few moments just trying a random car that turns out to be great. So far a fully tuned Honda Z, the '79 Civic (reasonable tune) and the '82 (83?) Trueno with the black bonnet (can't remember full name) have been real surprises that I keep going back to for fun.

Since I finally have them all for a while now, I'm currently testing all cars in stock configuration on various circuits, which means I haven't raced the same race with the same car twice in months (and won't in months to come).

GT5 never gets old.

It came alive again after I attended a RUF only race on the 24h Nordschleife track. It was a blast and everyone was driving clean. I finished 3rd out of 9, but this made me want to try even harder, because the RUF is so satisfying to drive on sports hard tires with ABS only. I tuned it a little and raced two more races, until I fund the setup that worked best for me. I won the following two races and was having the best fun ever in GT5.

But its been quite some time since then and i moved into a new appartement, where i hardly have the room to setup my G25 and racingseat. Its very annoying to come home from work, having to setup the wheel and put it back under the bed before going to bed again. Finding good lobbies takes quite some time aswell, so GT5 has become my hobby for the weekend.

when "thinking" of a tune setting, translates into "now that's more like it" in various events, online or offline. Without resorting to calculators, quicktunes, etc.

Also, driving cars from the dealership, with their default engine and suspension, and taming the car to a track, within its limits of design. Then adding a small upgrade at a time, to test it's new behavior and limitations. This is where I'm at at A-40 with nothing left to buy except for restorations and parts, in hopes to have PD shut me up and take my money for a major Expansion to this game.

This would be worth paying monthly subscription for, if PD can take us to the next level of continuous support and content upgrade. As it stands, GT5 will only lose fanbase from here on, but I will continue liking this game for what it's worth.

Steering wheel. It dies every time i drive with the assists i had on the controller, it lives at TC 6, ABS 1, SRF on and steering help weak.

Thank you for reminding me of that Toscana even with Lambos. It just came back to me what an epic race that is. Gonna race it again now :)

Quite honestly, even with hundreds of hours spent in this game, I haven't grown the least bit tired of it. Either doing hotlaps or racing - offline vs bots even - I can't race enough. I need a 40 hour day to work and then get in barely enough GT5 time to make me feel remotely satisfied.

There is that other game coming along, and Battlefield 3 to distract me for a while, but I don't doubt that either one will keep me from coming back to that "Moon Over The Castle" intro I keep cued up on YouTube, what I watch before I fire up GT5. The American intro is just sad in comparison.

Dirty Nascar makes me lost in time. 1 15 laps race can take 10-12 minutes a peace. 4 or 5 races and you've lost almost an hour and a half of time.

Totally agree. The true test of a racing sim is whether hotlapping is enjoyable or not.

If the experience of driving around a track alone is great, you can't go wrong.

Tuning a 458, straight cut tranny whine and Ferrari roar in perfect harmony, and a good performing car :)
