GT5 commercial damage video? False advertising?

So the commercial that is currently airing where the sony guys says "they said 500 cars, I said 1000" and then "the said damage would be impossible, I said make it possible" At that part they show a subaru wrx spinning into a wall and really getting wrecked. The hood (bonnet) pops up and everything. I haven't seen anything like this in the actual game. Does this unlock or is this just false advertising? I remember reading damage unlocks, but I'm at level 19 and haven't seen anything except some denting in the cars. Is that all I get?

Parts fall off only on the WRC cars. Every other car only has dents and scratches on it.

Go to 'Arcade' choose any track, go to the 'Arcade Only' cars, choose one of the WRC cars and see for yourself. It's not false advertising.
