GT5 crashing since last update

Since my GT5 did a 200mg update about a week ago, my GT5 has been locking up my PS3 completely! During gameplay or just sitting at the menu, it will just freeze, and the only way I can restart is to hard reset my PS3. Just wondered if anyone else has had problems since the most recent update, because prior to that, I never had any problems with it (even with it often regularly running 24hr b-spec endurance races back to back).

Yes I have now that I think about it, I'm usually not on very long but I was on sunday night and froze and had to hard reset 3 times :( and my ps3 is only a couple months old! Wtf polyphony?
 
I've had this problem now and again during gameplay, and just turn it off and restart the ps3 and its ok again but I do have to say that I had this issue before the update and haven't had it yet since the update.
 
No ive 2 PS3 and niehter have any problems.

Does it happen when you aren't signed into the PSN?
 
Well, when I CAN sign into the ps network - I have been having major problems with that too... it hardly ever is able to sign in, but yes when I'm signed in, the game crashes.

Crashes? Where? In the main menu?
If yes then it's probably a lack of patience. Sometimes the game freezes for 3-5min, but then starts working again. Happens especially with crappy internet connections.


I don't know how (and if) a PS3 handles virtual memory, but how much free space does your HDD have?
 
Same problem here, after system upgrade to 4.2 I haven't been able to play GT5 anymore. Game always freezes after 20-30 seconds.

It has been slower than usual for me too
 
I don't know. I always think people are crazy because I have the launch 60gb and I've never had a problem with anything. Even with GTAIV came out with people having bad over heating issues and constant freezing. I can say I haven't had a problem with GT5 at all.

Here no problem either.
Also on a 60GB launch PS3
 
What I have noticed is that working in and through the various parts of the game menu is noticeably slower than prior to the update....but only when logged into the network. And now a couple of times I have gone to exit the game and my PS3 will turn itself off, and then turn back on again. Whether that is relative to it's age or not I am not sure..
 
I had my GT5 freeze on a loading screen once after the last update on my 250 slim.
 
well i live in Switzerland but i'm from POrtugal. I play the Game in Portugese Linguage, + have Ps3 320 Slim, an NO PROBLEMS. DFGT + G27 no problems too. Everything working fine. Working better actually. :)
