Hey people, i need some help i kind of turned my system off when it was on not realising it would be loading GT5 my t.v was off, i know stupid mistake:tdown: but now i have a problem i cant even play GT5 i re loaded my system and it says that there is corrupt data and a grey disc with a white lightning strike down the middle where as it would be blue saying GT5 i dont know what to do i cant play it on my main account that is level 30 A and B spec or any other accounts am i now stuffed do i have to start all over again or buy a new disc since i cant even load the game please help im going MAD ! :nervous:

The disk is fine, it's your save file. If you had a backup from a USB stick then you are OK, if not you have to start over. Don't buy a new disk though

Thanks for your reply man but i am stuffed then because i didnt back it up :( i know i should of well, i guess i have learnt my lesson.. Are you sure its my data though because i can see and view it in my saved files it says 428 days played and stuff shouldn't that be corrupt as well ?

There is a chance that if you turned off your ps3 whilst it was loading from disc that you may have killed the drive?

try another disc, your blu ray may be dead

I'm playing MW3 so does that mean i didn't have to delete my data ....:scared:

hol

That's Exactly what i did. I didn't realise i was doing that my t.v was off and i wanted to clean the fans so does this mean i didn't have to delete my data... and i have been playing MW3 so maybe the disc is ruined ?

I can't believe people in here said to delete the save file. The corrupt data icon was on the DISC icon, not the SAVE DATA file. NEVER delete your save file without making a back up of it on a USB stick (even if you suspect it's corrupted) Your problem is with the disc drive or the PS3 if the disc is brand new and in perfect condition. When drives start to go, they often choose 1 or 2 discs to pick on. This is also true for a lot of PC drives as well. It's a shame you deleted your save file so hastily. People should actually read the original post before telling you to destroy your game save (I bet it was fine). I find that really nasty.

You can try the data recovery options in the setting menu. I'm not sure if it will work but it is worth a try.

Try placing your PS3 in safe mode and then repair system files. See if that helps.

Sure ill try that when i get home from work thanks .

I Assumed people would have red the post right through and i thought they knew what they were doing ...so guess it's all over now ? i have a back up from the save data section but its corrupt and i deleted the game data utility for GT5 so I'm not too sure if that is my actual data i might just chop my PS3 in half .... lol when i deleted that data i felt like a part of me was gone lol

Thanks bro ill give that a try anything that might help me im willing to try thanks.

It stinks that your game save backup is corrupted. That's some bad luck. You can delete everything else without any worries (replays and photos will be gone if not exported from within the game and backed up though). My hard drive went bad and I had no problem replacing it, loading everything again and using my backup save files.

I dont want to be in the middle of this, but I am.. so I just have to say..
before you deleted everything you should create backup of you GT5 save file in USB stick. what if your HDD failed or Blu Ray drive... then it would meant your GT5 save file was fine.. :( just saying!

I said that as well but unfortunately, if you read the previous post, you will see that he did have a backup save, but it got corrupted. Bad luck.
