Here's an idea:


Instead of dividing the fans in glitchers vs. non glitchers, unite and use all our joint consumer power to get what we all want. Because the bottom line is that both fan bases want a better game to play.


I say, we end the glitching debate or atleast put it on ice for a while.

Instead lets all focus on PD and be smart consumers. PD would not make this game if it wasn't for us, and our willingness to open up our wallets for them.

Lets put together all the brain power inbetween us, and look at ways to positivly (with respect for the Japanese situation) put pressure on PD to give us all a more positive gaming experience.


It sounds a bit strange, but PD benefits on us dividing the fan base in glitchers and non glitchers, and we consumers loose that battle. Lets take a stand for gaming, and unite in this.

I for once would like to see a big increase in gaming magazines on and offline, talk to different people connected to developing or promoting the game. And get more definite timeline on when and what we will get from updates.


And not just get some surprise update. Where we don't even know before it hits us, if the fans are asking for the new content or not.


Dear PD and SONY. We (the fans) want a closer connection to the game company, with more information and conversation. :cheers: 👍

Can I just ask for "better PR" (ie ask them to do their job) instead of wanting to have a "closer connection" with a large international corporation?

Anyways ... I see the fans of GT series as 3 categories and a different mixes of these 3 categories:

1. The heart fan (like a football supporter, or a fashion addict).

2. The brain fan (gets caught up in tech specs, mixed with heart fan you get a collector).

3. The racer fan (most likely to use a wheel when racing).

With a mixtures of these you get a gazillion possibilities.

You could not have been more wrong.


Remember there will be a GT6 and other games like Tourist Trophy 2 and possible paid DLC along the way. We have not lost our consumer power, we only do if we chicken out and decleare defeat against capitalism.

There are many more reasons to be a smart consumer, I come from Norway one of the countries with highest consumer power in the world.

Believe me this is important no matter where you live in the world, to make sure companies craft the best product they possible can deliver.
 
Nokkien, I applaude you. This is something we need, consumer power. We should work together, as a comunity to do this. As mentioned later in the thread, this will never work of course.

or you could just wait until they give us more for the game instead of hounding them. i can understand that we all want more from this game, but now isn't the time to be putting any kind of pressure on pd to give us more for the game. how about we all just give them a break, i think they have more pressing things to worry about right now.

Well all bought rushed out and bought a half assed version of gran turismo, that tells PD we would probably do it again. This time they just have to make a half decent attempt at GT6 and well all think it was the best game ever because it was better than GT5.

If we were all such smart consumers we would have waited untill release and then only bought the game once it was fixed and put right.

Talk is cheap and our actions say it was okay to push out a non complete GT5

Half assed or not it was worth what i paid for it, and I even got the collectors edition. I would have paid a full game price just for the rally races (and there very few of these) and the photomode, i'm easy to please :).

Now if they can have faster AI and turn up mechanical and visual damage i'm set.

As for glitching, i do not think it has to be patched at all. Heck, a glitcher will always be a glitcher and will find ways to do that ( no offense meant ). It does no affect me or most other payers, they will just have more cars.

Yes unite one and all GT fans.

Let's heal the world and make it a better place. Not just for you and me but ya know the entire human race. Let's face it, theres people dying and if you can be bothered to care about the living there's a better place for you and for me.

rumor is that PD and Yakuza Kaz is already working on a new game. GT5 is doomed to die.

It's like life in general.

You either look at a cup half empty, or half full.

Nothing can be done, unless you change peoples apathetic attitude towards capitalism (or eveything else) first.

The phrase 'it's my money, and no one should care what I do with it' comes to mind. Even thou it's somewhat a truth (unless it includes crime), it shows an attitude companies and businesses thrive on. If this is the case, you can either declare defeat (defensiv stance) or change into battle mode (offensive stance).

It's my clear belief that living defensivly can get you through life, but not much more than that.

Living offensivly (not violant or outside the law) can however, make you discover hidded gems in life. F.ex. you can get to meet the love of your life, you would perhaps not meet living defensivly.

Dare to let other people into your life, and dare to get disappointed or hurt even. The higher the cost (also emotionally) the better the prize.

I know this personally cause i dared to open up my life, and met a person beyond my believes at that time. I truly am a living example that this works in real life.

I like GT5 just fine the way it is. I don't glitch, I don't grind, I don't sweat trying to get to level 40 or get every car in the game. I just drive and have fun.

What are you trying to accomplish, exactly? You said you want to "unite" but for what? Would you rather have no game after 5 years of development than this "rushed" version?

The game isn't perfect, but what game is? Every game has glitches, at least PD takes the time to address them! Isn't there better ways to spend your energy than "uniting for a more positive gaming experience"? Isn't having a positive gaming experience an attitude choice for the specific gamer? You can choose to be a pessimist and focus on the games' flaws or you can focus on the fun parts, the important parts:

its the same with the fuel... "dont buy your fuel @ shell esso etc... use free fuelstations"

such things never work... cuz most people are lazy (including me)

I actually prefer to be neutral in this regard.

I criticized GT5 quite a bit in the past, but now I try to enjoy it for what it is. However, I still want it to get better through updates and I still think things can be improved.
 
I'll agree that this game could be improved significantly (and the same goes for just about every other game I own). The point I'm making is that even if they never released another patch and the game stayed in its current state forever, I'd be fine with that.
