Jordan,
I am new to the GT series and new to PS3. The GT5 disc didn't leave my PS3 for four months.
Your website and the forums in particular only heightened my love for the game. I even paid for a premium membership to support it.
That said, the forum has become a terrible collection of I wants, I needs, and I'm not happy abouts.
Could I please request a separate forum for these threads.
It would help clean out the main forum. and open it up to more a general dicussion of the game.
Thanks for reading.

Welcome to our forum, Double-T.

We have a question and answer forum, but generally we leave a lot of the questions and threads open to the imagination of GTPlanet's users, allowing for everything from why we love the game, fanciful discussions of what-if, and to the reasons why people are not happy with it. So as long as it is relevant to the general gameplay of Gran Turismo 5, it has a place in that forum. There's also sub-forums for Race reports/stories, Tuning, Drifting, Online-racing, PhotoMode, Marketplace...et cetera.

To restrict the complaints into another section doesn't really balance out the general feelings people have for the game, and it doesn't help people who have a genuine question or find something interesting about the game. I'm sure a lot of the questions could be answered by searching rather than just jumping in with questions, but sometimes people are new enough to internet forums that if they can't find one little question son enough, we try to accommodate for those with the best of intentions. How everyone deals with other members is the reason people stay with a forum after their initial questions are answered.

A lot of people feel that if they complain enough, their voice will be heard. That's both the good and bad of having a game that can be patched and updated, but it's also worth mentioning that it's absolutely no guarantee an individual request (or that of hundreds of users) will be fulfilled, as we aren't a part of Sony nor Polyphony Digital.

Not all threads are for everyone; heck, being a site Moderator means wading through several threads I usually have no care to read through!* But with all due respect, membership to GTPlanet doesn't require anyone to read anything but the rules. :) Some threads will interest you, many may not. Rest assured we do patrol forums and clean out clutter and do our best to clean up meaningless threads (both ranting and raving), but we also realize that it's rare that people are going to pop in to say that everything's OK and fine/dandy, but rather if they can't find out how to tune their transmission and why their favorite car isn't in the game.

* For example, I don't even have a PS3 nor GT5, nor own a motorcycle, and I don't care for anime. But others do, so I read them occasionally.

I'll echo everything Pupik just said, and also add that it's very likely a lot of forum users don't realize the Feedback Section exists, as it covers the bases of a lot of criticisms/wishes.

Allright. Points taken.

It's just so frustrating to have to weed through (or weed out) so many patch wishlists and DLC requests and discussions it gets frustrating. The posts just seem to take up space without contributing anything.

I guess if PD/Sony were more open about what they're working on it wouldn't be an issue.

I'll go back to my corner.
