GT5 freezing online, stuck loading

GT5 has frozen 3 times in the past few days while online. Each time it froze after the host changed tracks. The very first time, about a week ago, it caused my save data to become corrupt (sadly I didn't have it backed up) and I just chucked it up to bad luck. Disgruntled I didn't play it again until last night, when it froze again. Today, I deleted the game data and patches, cleared the cache, reinstalled game data and redownloaded the patches and still no luck. One or two track changes and I freeze.

Has anyone else recently had this happen to them? Are there any other posts I should look at? I was going to buy a G27, but if this continues I might just say forget it. Any information would be helpful!
 
Happens most days to me. And when a race starts too.

I end up having to turn off the playstation.

It's extremely annoying.

Did it start recently for you, or has it always been that way?

I don't get it, I've been playing since December of 2010, and this is literally the first time it's ever happened to me.
 
Yeah it happens to me most days/nights when racing online it is sooo frustrating!! it
It has to be the servers well that's what I think.
 
It happens all the time - once I was waitng for the grid to come up and I could see the other cars on the map, they had no issues and I had a black screen (with map and chat visible)...very frustrating.

Yesterday it crashed for everyone and we all ended up having to abondon the room.

It's corncerning that you have had loss of data, I always "Quit Game" from the XMB menu - when I load up again I get the last save (often current car is different to the one I left the game with).

It will be down for an hour for maintenance tonight so maybe these bugs will get fixed.

It's been doing it for months now. It mostly happens when I'm in a full room.

Yeah, I would normally do that as well, but my game locked up with the "saving data" flashing. The XMB wasn't responsive, I couldn't do anything. I gave it 5 or 10 minutes, it never unfroze. It sucks :\
