GT5 freezing since 2.0 update

Hi there, big time GT fan, played and finished them all, unfortunately since the 2.0 update whenever I pick my Lamborghini LM spec and a couple of other certain cars from my garage it freezes, can quit game with controller but does it every time with a few cars, I have 275 cars in my garage, could it be a hardrive issue? PS3 80 gb version, disc looks fine, anyone else have these issues since the latest update? Thank you
 
I had 2 different freezes so far, both at two seasonals,
Ferrari at Tokyo 246, before 2.0 update and last night at
Tsukuba seasonal after 2.0 update, had to press PS to get rid of it, this is from a new PS3, bought august 20 :nervous:
 
I had two freezes whilst loading up races. The new settings window never came up on both occasions instead the blue loading bar stayed on screen like before 2.00 update. When the bar had filled up it stayed stuck there and the race didnt start. Had to switch off from the ps as controller did not respond at all.
 
mine has been freezing every time i do a race! only since the update. i can go through menus and buy cars and such, but 20sec into a race, freezes up. i dont see much on here about it so i figured it was my disk. i was going to try the disk in another ps3 tomorrow.
 
There are a lot of freezing bugs since the new update, I've had a few myself.
 
I have had it freeze a couple of times when the track is loading and it just stays on the loading bar forever and doesnt actually go to the track. A bit strange
 
I have had issues when I try to change out to a different car. After I click the tab to install the new car, I don't hear the car start and I can't do a thing with my controller. This kind of sucks. :nervous:

I have the same problem. I cant do ANY single player races without freezing 10-20 secs into them. The only way I can make money now is online. This new update seems very unstable... I've been disconnected alot from online servers aswell but I dont freeze as much.
 
mine has freezed just after starting one make races and b spec. it makes me feel sad
 
I've had tons of problems with freezing too. Mainly when I turn on the game, I try to go to GT Life and the game freezes for around five minutes. Also when I'm trying to leave lobbies sometimes too. You can try clearing your cache but that's all I know what to do with slow load times.
 
i uninstalled all my game utility data and re-downloaded the update and tried again, but still the same problem! damnit!!!
 
I had the SAME issue. Delete ALL patches. Play the game offline without any patches to see if it works and then patch. It's gonna work now. I did that.

Lots of black screen freeze at start of online races too, seems to have got worse since spec 2 update :(
 
Ive had the same problem.
If its only single player you want to play try signing out of PSN and it should work fine.
Of course this means no online play or seasonals but if you fancy just hot lapping or a-spec give it a go as it works for me.
 
Haven't had a freeze as yet. It's just very slow at loading anything in the game
 
Wow, ok well thought i was the only one of a few since the 2.00 update, thought my PS3 was giving up the ghost, still might be i don't know but plays all my other games flawlessly, C.O.D Black Opps, NFS Shift, Fallout 3, and it all started like a few of you guys only in the seasonal event stuff, but since my last thread, loads up the new intro and gets to my GT life screen and FREEZE!!! now i'm p, oed. something better happen soon or i might buy an Xbox and play Forza.........Naaaaaa.
 
Couple of freezes online (usually when leaving a room !) for me, plus MUCH longer load times after 2.0. all other games are fine so not my connection.
 
so mine turned out to be my save file, i loaded up a backup save i had made a couple months back and had stored on my pc. lost a few cars and some progress, but works fine. i tried a new disk and still had the same issue, so the next step was that it was probably a corrupted save file.

id make a copy of my save every now and again, im sooo glad i did now, i didnt have to start from scratch!

edit: i lost my jeff gordon suit! :grumpy: that suit was awesme!

This is happening to me too. Redownloading now....


EDIT: Fixed.

I stayed offline and then resaved (after making a backup). Turned off the game, made a backup (a second one, just in case); turned the game back on, VOILA. Everything is good again.

mine is still freezing after downloading version 2.01 on practice/one make race as soon as i get control of the car. the whole ps3 just locks up (like when youtube freezes ur ps3) i know its not the ps3 as its brand new, very well looked after and has zero problems with other games. the disc is fine and this problem only started on version 2.00. it is not a network issue either as it is not on the loading screens (i've had those issues before) is anyone else experiencing the same issue? thanks
 
Mine froze last night and I ended up losing my garage but everything else was still there. Loaded up a recent save and back in business...lost a few cars I bought and tuned the last few days but the money is back...lol.
