Has been happening a few weeks ago and I don't know how to fix it. The problem is that the accelerator pedal is glitching when I'm not stepping on the pedal I would see on my screen that I'm putting a little input and I would hear my car rev up and down, All I do is step on the pedal again and it would be gone but it will eventually come back again which is annoying me because sometimes when I'm trying to shift it would do that and it would leave me on neutral...

The same thing happened to me, what I did was slam on the pedal all the way down a few times and it went away. What's causing this is that there's something inside, dirt, fluff, whatever, blocking it! Slamming on it, not too hard to break anything, will loosen it and let it fall out itself.

The other option is to open it up and use a can air duster to blow it out. This is much more work and the above method will work just as effective. I've had mine for over 3 years now and only had the issue once!

Solution 3 is that your potential metre is either broken or needs to be sprayed with contact grease, if your wheel is new or under 1 year old, this isn't the case for you.

Dirty pots. Dissasemble pedals and clean potentiometers with some contact cleaner in spray (ask in some electronic shops). I had to do it every 6 months in my DFGT, it's the same in G27, but depends how much you use them and how dusty is the environment around them.

I don't think my potential metre is broken. It was bought second hand but the owner used it once or something like that and stored it in the box. I've been using it since (couple months).

I can open it but the problem is I don't know where to spray and what spray to use as I'm not use to these kind of wheels. I use my wheel just about everyday and my environment is very clean :)

I have the same problem with my brake pedal on the G25.

I have been thinking lately of swapping the brake pedal for the clutch pedal. Can I just swap them - are the pots the same?

My gas pedal flaked out once really bad but I think it was because of car hair - blew it out it TV tuner cleaner and have not had trouble since.

My brake pedal however sticks slightly sometimes, and often at the worst possible time - Like when I am heading out of a corner into a straight.

I had to do this twice to my DFGT, havent had any trouble with my G27 yet but it seems to happen to all Logitech wheels, strangely it seems to affect the brake pot more than the throttle one, but it an easy fix.

Its all about where you keep it and how you use it. If you keep it in an area free of debris, it'll be fine. A lot of hard use will wear it out too.

I keep and use mine in my carpeted living room, only had one issue and all I had to do was shake a piece of fluff (or something) out of it. Didn't have to open it up at all yet, 3 years now with almost daily use!

Yes, they're the same & you can just swap them. I did it with my G25 a while back cos of a spiking brake. It's alosmt like having a brand new brake pot for free, & the spiking doesn't affect the clutch at all cos the bite point is way down low. Give it a go!

👍

Thanks, these are very helpful I'll start cleaning my pedal as soon as I receive my Contact Cleaner.

These are too much, if you're lazy like me, but you have photos of pots there. After opening pedals, spray the contact cleaner inside them (not too much, but don't be shy with it). Then fully press the pedals few times (15?20? you can do more), so the cleaner gets everywhere and cleans whole working range of potentiometer. Then wait about half an hour, so it dries out and you can go back to playing, everything should be fine.

I had problems only with accelerator, but I cleaned all the pots when I opened my pedals. Using contact cleaner might be better than cleaning it manually, because it not only cleans the pots, but also oils them.

Thanks man.

There is another possibilty. I used to have some some issues with my G27, but I remember reading that you can calibrate the pedals before a race. So now, just before a race, I press all thre pedals down fully and let go. I've never had a problem since with any pedals =)

Oh yes, I do this everytime as well just to be on the safe side. Top tip! tup:

I don't understand? Can you explain this please, I'd love to hear more:tup:

How often do you guys find you need to clean the pots once this happens the first time?

I would also point out that you shouldn't go opening up and cleaning your pedals if you're still under warranty. It'll void it. If it's not a dirty pot problem and you've opened it up you'd have to buy a replacement.

However if you're out of warranty.....clean away. :)

Has anyone tried drop-in Hall Effect sensors? They look like a conventional pot, but are contactless. They do need about 5 volts, which may or may not be reaching the stock potentiometers. They sometimes need an added circuit element to avoid latching (locking at a certain output). I used them on some cars I ran individual throttle bodies on years ago.

Yes, I'm lazy as well. I'm not going to open everything but just enough bto spray my potential meter. There is too much risk of opening everything up because it has little bearings springvs...etc that you don't want to play around with and if I do 🤬 it will cost me a whole lot more to get it fixed
