I remember on GT 4 for the PS2 I had my memory card erased and had to start over. I was able to find a code, or I used a game shark, to unlock all the licenses so that I didn't have to go through them all again. It's my least favorite part of the game. Anybody hear anything like that for GT 5 yet? I just bought the game yesterday and haven't played it yet. If doing the licenses with a cheat would make it unfair somehow in online races let me know, because I wouldn't want to do that. But if it doesn't affect the online race I would like to get the licenses out of the way. Thanks

They are not necessary to do. It's now a choice. You get some small amount of XP and some free cars, that's it.

EDIT: Oh and to answer your question, no there is no way to skip it. But as I said you don't have to so just don't bother.

Ok that's cool. I've always felt like they kept me a day or so from playing the game and didn't like them, but for some reason now that I know they aren't mandatory I want to do them lol.

GT5 doesn't have liscense restrictions like the older games did. They are more or less just for trophys/exp/bragging now. So there should be no need to cheat! :)

They are still worth doing. Good way to introduce yourself to the game and get used to the physics. But, there is no pressure to get all the licenses. I'm only doing licenses now that I'm starting to run out of other things to do, I played through most of the game with Gold B and Silver A, that was about it until I wanted a free truck from Bronze iA.

Check this thread for the prize cars, you might find something worth playing for - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=134047

Contrary to popular believe there actually is a use for GT5 license. GT5 License make it really easy to cycle through the UCD to find the car you've been looking for ;)

Well the licenses are meant to teach you driving proper and fair... would not like meeting you in an online lobby ;):D

Actually the licenses only teach you how to avoid the AI, especially in Super, which is driving neither proper nor fair.:)
