Why don't Polyphony Digital just help us all out and give us more info when we join lobbies.

It would stop all this confusion and arguing.

I'm talking about things like a lobby rules page, the ability to change the room name, the hosts aids settings and restrictions, is TC/ABS/SRF allowed etc etc etc before you join the room!!!

Another thing that is a must is the ability for hosts to ban x1s. Its a disgrace that this hasn't been done already. :banghead:

Hurray. yep the lobby does my head in, I spend 30 mins finding a rooms in a 2 hour session, typically the host leaves and the new host changes room settings GRRRRrr

I want tyre wear rooms, so would like a tyre wear filter.

I wish people would not change a room from its title.. ie room titled 550pp and new host ponses about changing PP.

Would be nice for ppl to make up for lacking software by naming their room properly and new hosts not messing with it.

just need the abreviations and to spread the word.

I think more info would make it cluttered.
But filters would go along way, I'd like more filters... no aids, e.t.c.
But this thread won't help. Start something in the feedback section and see how it gets on.

Filters are a must in gt5 with its encyclopedic approach to motor sport. Its a disgrace that this hasn't already happened.

This is seriously a major issue and major issues need urgent attention.

I urge Poly to get this sorted out.

I agree, though we can already sort by SRF when searching lobbies.

If this is going to be done, do it right. Banning the X1 alone is ridiculous, and it would be a complete waste of resources to make this feature revolve around one arbitrary car. A feature that allows banning specific cars (any cars) would be acceptable.

Cluttered? All we'd need is a couple of tabs to click on for each lobby.

Yea think the feedback sections best place for this thanks:tup:

Lets face it, the X1s need putting in there own class like the Karts and F1s are.

Simple really, like I said its a disgrace IMO.

If I've got any votes left, I'll give it a vote up.
PD seem to take layout seriously, providing information on screen in the most efficient way possible and stuff.

Why did they even put that in there????

There is zero reason to do this, and this goes for karts and F1 as well (besides F1 licensing). Taking away the ability to race X1 vs Mini Cooper is a pointless restriction that only takes away from the game whether you would personally use it or not. And then, there are also track days.

The only reasonable banning feature is one that can be applied to any car. No single car in GT5 is special enough to force it to be separated from everything else.

Setting a weight restriction to 751kg will automatically eliminate X1's from taking part, and will only harm a handful of other vehicles from entering. If you are going to be using such cars (Caterham 7 for example), then a BHP or PP limit will be the work around for this instead.

I would love to see some more filter options before joining a room, rather than having to check them out when the room has loaded. It would also be nice if you could have a drop down box from the room title that the host could either add extra information to, or list all of the room's features and restrictions.

An option to search just for shuffle or normal races would be the best one overall in my opinion, very surprised it was never included. Seemed a bit of an obvious one to miss on PD's part.

I completely disagree with your totally nonsense argument. X1s should race against other X1s only. :banghead:

X1 vs Mini Cooper? U mad bro?

X1's are usefull for other cars to slipstream off in order to achieve higher top speeds.

It's also interesting having an X1 try and do 3 laps of one circuit while another car tries to complete one lap etc. Can be some very close races there.

I don't see the point in placing any sort of restrictions. I hate that you have to fiddle with and essentially glitch the lobby options just to race karts against normal cars. Karts against 450pp cars is extremely fun.

Also, has anyone tried to race a fully restricted X1 against an unrestricted FGT or Ferrari F1? I wonder how close of a race that would be (again, lobby would need tweaking to make this work).

Nothing mentioned by the OP refers to things that are broken. The lobbies work the way they are designed. These would enhancements or changes.

There is zero nonsense in my post.

Provide a good reason why.

What about multi class racing?
What about track days?
What about messing around (video above)
What about people who aren't you?

Exactly

I once brought an X1 into a room to do some laps for fun and the other people ended up challenging me to a 4 lap race, only I'd have to wait two laps to start.

Exactly, from a logical standpoint, restrictions that you cannot opt out of are stupid. They add nothing but limitations and reduce the fun you can have.

Also, has anyone tried to race a fully restricted X1 against an unrestricted FGT or Ferrari F1? I wonder how close of a race that would be (again, lobby would need tweaking to make this work).
I've not raced them, but fully restricted, the X1 drives pretty differently. It's still a lot of fun in that though.

I would like this improved, but I have other things I'd like to see fixed before this. Perhaps because, as a host, this has no effect on my room. I rarely race in other rooms, and when I do I know the host and his expectations.

You people already can race your X1s as you please. I'm saying, in my lobby I would like to resrict it or group it like F1s or karts. OK?

Either that or i'll just carry on insta kicking x1s.

Can i just remind some of you people that the x1 is a trolls best friend and it gets 🤬 annoying when some kid keeps crashing into you or spoiling your lap times.

@ Exorcet do me a favor... go away

I understand that, but if that was to happen (grouping them like F1's), and then PD finally patched that car selection glicth in the lobby (which I'm surprised they haven't regarding licensing agreements with Ferrari F1), then no one will ever be able to race an X1 against anything else ever again.

I think it would be silly to take that away from people. As I said earlier, I think it's silly you can't race karts against cars without glitching.

Setting a 751kg limit will eliminate any X1's from entering, which is no more effort than pressing an "X1 only" button.

help us all out and give us more info

hear, hear.

I'd pay for these filters if they were DLC:

tyre restriction
tuning allowed/not
racecars/roadcars
Microphone on/off
ABS on/off
driving aids on/off

This is the first time you said this, by the way I agree with this totally. Host owns lobby, host can do whatever with lobby.

What I don't agree with is wasting PD's time resources. A ban for only X1's is completely pointless. A ban that allows you to completely configure car compliance rules is wonderful.

Either that or i'll just carry on insta kicking x1s
May I suggest PP or HP and weight so you don't even have to bother?

Can i just remind some of you people that the x1 Any car is a trolls best friend and it gets 🤬 annoying when some kid keeps crashing into you or spoiling your lap times.
Fixed.

Hoe did this go from wanting more lobby options to an X1 debate?

If some wants to drive it, do it, just not in my room. Where's the competition? Where's the fun in constant bashing, which MOST people do.

In regards to seeing more room options before entering, it doesn't make a huge deal to me. If they expanded more on the hover bubble, when you put the cursor over the room name, to show more detail.

It seems to me that the only option I see missing is tyre wear, everything else can be filtered.

All I want is a filter for normal/shuffle. I'd much prefer to be able to limit my choices to shuffle only rooms instead of scrolling thru multiple screens.

All PD need to do for us is give us a better options for configuring our open lobbies.

We should be able to choose:
-Street cars only option (No race cars)
-Better tire restrictions (Comfort, Sport, or Racing) and then you should be able to only choose between the different compounds or even limit it to one specific compound if so desired.
-Also when determining the HP or PP level we should be able to set both upper and lower ends of that range. ie 625pp to 650pp or 800hp to 1000hp. I also dislike when someone bring a Honda Civic when the rest of us are racing Ferraris, Vipers, and Ford GT's.
-Also, we should be able to level required to enter a lobby (if so desired) ie Level 30+ or License level within the game (License level C, B, A, IB, IA).

I like the license idea. This will get more qualified racers together and keeps someone, just learning the basics, out. And vice versa.

GT needs to implement the licenses more, even for special events. They make it way to easy to level up while it took people who've had the game since launch, months and months to level up.
