GT5 Network issue

Hello all, when ever I log into the the Psn on gt5 the game becomes incredably slow, sometimes taking up to 20mins just to get into the game. As soon as I log out it works straight away. I am at the stage where I am so frustrated the I feel like smashing the game into pieces. How do I fix this?

Well, don't do this. That wouldn't help much. Try clearing your PS3 system cache.

EDIT: Also, back when my PS3 was running really slow online like that someone suggested rebuilding my database. Worked surprisingly well. Follow the steps here.

Oh dear that was the biggest disaster ever, all my saved games are gone psn account wont work, the back up usb save doesn't work either, what a ****** network, xbox from here on in

My misunderstanding then, I didn't see that part or if I did, it didn't register, lol. Just thought you were being a smartass. My apologies.

Sorry to hear that mate, but it isn't GT5 servers its either a poor install on your machine or more than likely its your brodband and supplier. Try deleting all game data and reinstall then run checks on your broadband and see if it running ok.
You dont need super high speed but it does help and DONT run anything on the internet when playing GT5 online, your PS3 does not loike to share its bandwidth at all.
 
My GT5 does go slow now and again after recent update. I get this network incompatibility error 768 when i try to join my mates lobby. Before update i could join his lobby without any problems now it's just impossible :/
