Hi,

I've tried to search but I couldn't find anything related to this issue I'm experiencing from the beginning of September onwards - my GT5 game has no sound at all! Neither music in menus or engine sounds in races.

The PS3 menu and other games I own work perfectly sound-wise. I have uninstalled the game and re-installed it and tried a new game save and my usual game save. Both have no sound at all.

I also change the different sound settings on the in-game options menu (5.1, 2 speakers stereo, etc). and also didn't work. I tried with both TV sound and my living room surround system. No sounds coming out of either.

A TV/Surround system problem, or a HDMI/Optical cable issue is excluded because everything works perfectly with other games and navigating on the PS3 menu.

I don't know if anyone else is getting this issue and I think it's worthwhile to communicate this to the developer (PD) to see if they're aware of it and what solution would they suggest. Unfortunately I couldn't get a email contact or contact form on the gran-turismo.com website.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Same thing happened to me. All I had to do was eject the disk and clean it. Popped it back in and I got sound. But yours seems a little more extreme then mine lol

Don't know if this will help, but whenever I get no audio on PS3 after loading a game (and this can be any games, not just GT), all I do is change the current input on the TV from HDMI to anything else (component, cable, antenna, etc...), and then back to HDMI. Voila, audio back.
Interesting note, if you quit the game once you realize you're getting no audio at all after loading it, you also get audio back (you can hear the XMB sound when navigating it again, proving that the audio is back). If you load the game again, you'll have audio. Stick with the first trick though, 'cause it's faster to change inputs and then back to HDMI, than to quit and reload a game.
