Hello, since GT5 is going offline and i came pretty late (~jan 2014) i would like some tips on cars i need to finish the A/B spec offline later on.

I did the Begginer Series then moved on to Seasonals for 2 weeks before geting GT6. I got the Academy edition so i got some cars. From 2 weeks playing i also got some expensive cars: XJR9 LM 91, 797B, Toyota 7, Escudo trial car, C89, C9 mercedes, C60, p905, formula GT, gt40 race car and around 300 other cars from small hatches to a few LM cars.

So in short, what should i try to get to make getting to level 40 a/b spec? I doubt i will have the time to run the 24h races etc :/

Currently at lvl 34/26 just from seasonal events in the 2/3 weeks i played GT5.

Thanks for the input in advance.

Welcome to GTPlanet and hope to see you around in GT6.:gtpflag:

I found this car suggestion guide (they call it a walkthrough) very useful for GT5. This is a list of what car is a prize for each event and license test also.

Hi FrancisRus - if you haven't already got one, buy and tune to 650PP a BMW F1 GTR (I think that is what it's called in GT5 - it is the race version of the McLaren F1). Use it to dominate the B Spec Seasonals before they get deleted - you can use it to win 1m+ credits every race - the Suzuka Seasonal is particularly easy with this car.

If you want to get all the cars in the game, the dealership is fully refreshed after a certain number of races (from memory I think it is 6) so remember to check the secondhand dealership regularly). It is only refreshed if you are logged in - I presume that when the GT5 servers are switched off, the dealership will not refresh so you only have a limited amount of time to collect the cars. This might not be important to you, but personally I wanted all the cars - once you have them you can favourite 100 of them at a time and use them offline in Arcade mode - once you have finished the career mode and online services are switched off you will be able to get your GT5 racing fix from using the favourite cars in Arcade mode - you can get some very good races if you get the car, tyre choice and tuning level right and set the AI drivers to the Professional setting.

Good luck and happy racing!

Are you talking about the used car dealership? It fully refreshes in five game days. Also, the UCD is not an online feature. If you are talking about the online car dealership, I think it refreshes one a week.

well i probably wont collect all the cars in 1 month as i dont have the time and i play gt6 too.

im just browsing for must have cars that i will need offline later when i will go for lvl 40 on a and b spec

DaBomme - it is a long time since I have played GT5, because I switched to GT6 at Christmas Time, but I know the dealership only refreshes if you are logged in. I think 5 game days equates with 5 or 6 races which can be either A or B spec races. It must be the Used Car Dealership - the fact that it only refreshes if you are logged in makes me guess that it wont refresh once the GT5 servers have been switched off.

I think the Online Car Dealership refreshes once every two weeks.

The UCD is offline only and is not affected by the server shutdown, and it is 6 cars per in game day and 5 days for the 30 total in the lot. A race is a game day, repeating a race without going back to the home screen I THINK is also another day. Each license test is a day. I use to play GT5 only offline, not using the login bonus or anything so I know the UCD is not connected to the servers.

Yeah i did some grinding in GT5 these past days. Decided to put GT6 on the pause for a month (will only do regular seasonals) and try to get as much GT5 as i can.

So far up to 650 cars (from ~350 a week ago) and now at lvl 36/29. Seeing how slow the leveling gets (seems to get a lot longer every level, didnt expect that??) i doubt it i will get to level 40 offline so will try to get as close as possible on seasonals while they last.

Trying to work out how much races i need to do from level mid level 36 (i average about 100000 XP per race). Is the maximum at crossing from 39 to 40 or do i need to get full XP bar on level 40?

I understand the question completely. I also started GT5 late, about 3 months ago. Once I saw the servers were going down I started GT6, but would like to buy any GT5 "online dealership only" cars before the servers shut down. Are any cars "ONLINE DEALERSHIP ONLY?"

I don't believe so, the only cars that may be out if reach would be DLC, all the in-game cars should be available in the Used Car Dealership or the New Car Dealership. The question would be when, and if you can afford it when it comes.

Very nice, thank you.

The only problem is later on, would you buy >2 million used cars as i guess it will take some grinding to get that money without 200% login bonus in A spec races. Im buying all UCD cars i dont have every 5 races and now that only a few pop up that i dont have i started buying premiums that are over 500k. The cheaper ones i can take care off at the end :)

For grinding i go to latest seasonal (not counting ones that came out today): Bentley Speed 8 at Indy with 70% limiter and lowered downforce can still win so i get about 2 million per race and ~180000 xp (200% login bonus). Race is over in about 3:30 min.
