I was wondering how good will some of the rare paint chips you get in the game will look in real life , for example the Murcielago SV looks awesome in reflex purple (but that thing looks wonderfull in every color I´ve painted it ) but would it look that cool in real life ? the few colorshifts I´ve saw in real life looked awful.

So if you had a real life supecar would you paint it in the same colors you do the game ? a matte pink gallardo (can´t understand why people do that ), or would you chrome a ferrari enzo?

It's a game. People will paint cars whatever color they can because it's a game. Will they do it in real life, no.

Are you sure ?

I voted yes, because I always leave my supercars in their standard colours. I would never paint any supercar pink, even in a game.

Thanx for showing that,I'm going to paint the one i have in african violet.

I voted yes,i sprayed my SV in WR Blue and looks awesome.

I take liberties with the paints in game that I wouldn't in real life regardless of an unlimited supply of money.

Color-shift only looks awful if you do it wrong. A good paint job with color-shift paint can look awesome.

Do I want a metallic pink McLaren MP4 12C with blazing yellow rims in real life? Yes, please.

Modern car paints are boring. Decades of Germanic influence have convinced us that there is no substitute for gray. Me? I love colors like lime green, neon blue and bright orange. No reason not to have a little fun in life.

Can´t say I´m with you on the McLaren but I will take any super car in lime green , I love that color!

I'm not quite Don Johnson manly myself, yet... but give me some time, I think I can pull it off.

Might have to try that McLaren idea.

About the German thing, a lot of Merc's only look good in some sort of black, I have seen beautiful MB's ruined with an olive green paint job. You've probably heard about and seen the SLS, most likely in silver. I bought one in Le Mans rot (deep red/ maroon) and it's amazing, probably the only Benz that looks good in red.

Yeah I'm a huge MB fan.

Mind you, the Iris red off the Honda Fit looks horrid. The Raspberry from the iMiev works. Have yet to try the LF-A pink, though... not keen on buying a car just for the color.

Wow - I think that will turn out the be the best thing I'll hear all day!:sly:👍👍 Too true! I usually go for deeper, darker metallic colours like royal/navy blues, forest greens, raspberry/cherry reds/burgundy, etc. There's just something so appealing about those types of colours to me.

I try to stay away from both silver and black AND ultra-bright colours unless I feel it's warranted for a specific vehicle. (EG a bright yellow Lambo or my lime green Focus) But usually supercars end up in a fairly subdued colour...

I voted yes, but it's a tough thing to put a blanket rule on in my opinion...

Black, black, then matte black. Perhaps some stock colors as well.
Then more black.
I have to struggle NOT to think the person in the purple reflection Honda is an idiot and a color blind fool.

The nicest colour out there, by far, is Alfa Romeo Competizione Red. I'm working out of the Brussels auto salon right now and there's a 159 Sportwagon Ti 1750TB in Competizione Red with anthracite wheels at the Alfa booth. It looks simply STUNNING! I'm in love. Too bad it's a 2.250 euro (!!!!) option, next to the other metallic or pearl paints only costing 400 euro extra. Ouch...

Guess you all know now what colour my Seasonal Events 8C Competizione will be. :sly:

And yes, metallic grey is a horrid colour for a car. Solid or matte grey is a different matter though, like Grigio Campovolo on an Abarth 500 or Punto Evo.

Am I the only person who likes Iris Red? I painted my Civic with it and it matches very nicely with the trees in Kyoto. :O

Why do you assume I would paint my car an ugly color in the game? I paint my Ferraris Ferrari red in the game, so yes, I'd get them in the same color in real life.

As someone from Top Gear said about Audi's brochures with colours: "Why did somebody print them in black and white?"

I didn't need to buy the LF-A in Pink, I have the metallic Red one. I recall seeing that Pink in the form of a Paint Chip on one of my accounts. Whether I use it is another thing entirely. Can't say I am a huge fan of Chrome Silver for a Supercar anyway. After a great deal of deliberation I did finally paint a car with one of those chips... an '07 Cooper S.

I can't see myself custom painting any of my supercars, though I may change my mind on that. I did see a rather nice Red called Adventure Toning which turns out to be Toyota colour.

I think the most expensive car I repainted in the game was the i-MiEV! I bought the Solid Red version for the Seasonal and painted it with the Solid Red Paint Chip so that I would get rid of the white panels. I think that is more expensive than the '07 Mustang I painted Screaming Yellow Clearcoat (I think that is what it was called) with a Carbon Hood and Black wheels with a yellow rim stripe and wheel nuts (as far as I can tell) from the Wheel Showroom.

If i had the money i would paint a super car a really dark red color, way darker then Ferrari red but not quite maroon. So yes!

I have seen a couple of Nice shades of Grays as well.
