On GT5's release date, I created a petition for GT5 DLC and patches. But I made several mistakes that killed interest, and eventually a mod (who never revealed himself) locked it to keep me from reviving it again. The first of the mistakes was allowing people to suggest all kinds of inane little gripes, and the second was trying to debate things everyone wanted.

So now, I believe it's time to do this right. When debate is finished, it will be sent to Polyphony Digital, with the names and website affiliations of all in support attatched. If this is sucessful, we can show Kaz and PD exactly what we want from them, and steer the GT franchise to new heights. GTP will take a distinguished place in the history of Gran Turismo, and help create a better game for all.

But all that's far off. Before Kazunori can recieve this petition, we have to figure out what we want in it, and what we want it to say. That is the purpose of this thread.

Established Suggestions: These are widely requested and/or easy fixes and additions.

-Machine test
-Online leaderboards
-Paint preview
-Fix the Mustang Mach 1 so it gives out color chips
-Might as well add chips to the FT-86 as well
-Allow use of the kart and F1s in A-spec, so you can check which car you need without having to change
-Allow us to change our racing suit
-Restart confirmation
-LESS GRINDING!

Pending Debate: These suggestions may or may not be feasible or wanted.

-Return of FPV and the Accent Rally Car
-Car packs in general
-Track packs
-Livery editor
-More precise track editor, including point-to-point option
-More RM cars
-More in-depth customization & tuning

Someone said that DLC + duping could create an issue. There's a simple fix that will keep Sony and the dupers happy - if someone doesn't have the DLC, they can't get DLC cars or parts in trade! Seems like a pretty obvious solution to me.

So, the current question is this: do you want car packs badly enough to put them in the petition?

I fail to see how this will help anything. Might as well be a wish list for GT6.

You know petitions do not work here at :gtplanet: as it is not directly affiliated with PD or Sony? I think this is the reason your other petitions were closed!
Unless you know where to send it.

The first of the mistakes was allowing people to suggest all kinds of inane little gripes, and the second was trying to debate things everyone wanted.

It doesn't look like things have changed...

First of all, suggesting only what YOU consider a legitimate complaint and slagging everyone else's as 'inane little gripes' is an insult, pure and simple.

And attempting to avoid a debate about what WAS important or not is basically the same thing!

And, in that list (with several 'inane little gripes', IMO), where is the fix for the grind? You know, the ONE almost universally hated element of the game?

How many polls do you think this forum needs, before we can say to ourselves that Kaz KNOWS what we want, and honestly doesn't give a rat's about it? I'd say we have LONG passed that point...

Can't you make a poll that has all the voters names on it? It would save hundreds of pages of 'signed' posts. A lot of these points are in the feedback section as well.

Mate give the bloke a fair go. At least he's trying to do something and dosnt need your negative comments

Here we go again.....

Sorry GT5 has your money, they have no reason to redesign the game, you might as well just wait 6-7 years for GT6.
Plus someone made a good point do you think PD comes on this site to get feedback, if anything you should take this to the Sony page.

By "inane little gripes" I mean stuff like "Oh, the roads look too new and it's not realistic!" Save that for GT6.

Also, if you've raced at Indy, you'd know the oval's pavement does not look new at all.

As for "fix the grind", I can't believe I forgot that one. It'll be in shortly.

I know PD doesn't check in with us. That's why I said "send the petition to them".

Ahem, the feedback section?

Gigs leave him ALONE if you don't like the idea, go away.
I would suggest adding a poll after you've gathered enough ideas.

Just one to add on would be the ability to fastforward and rewind while watching replays...

While not specifically, exactly, the same thing, Jordan recently added the Feedback section to the site, which handily collects many users' criticisms of the game in an easily-digestible form.

Labeling certain suggestions as maybe not wanted seems like a self-interested take on the petition; if they've come up as suggestions by members in the past, they quite obviously are wanted.

Personally, I don't see much of a point in any of the petitions, and a "What would you change about GT5" thread already exists. No, I was not the staff member who closed the last one, either.

This whole FORUM is one big collection of suggestions. Very few of which, PD have shown the slightest interest in addressing.

If they have not tasked at least one employee to trolling the largest English speaking GT5 forum in the world for ideas, no poll now will get their attention. And if they HAVE got someone giving a rat's about what we think, they already KNOW what we want.

#1 of which would be getting rid of the grind. And that involves FAR more A-Spec, with reward cars and standard Cr. and XP. Which is the EASIEST thing they could ever do. It remains undone. If you need any more proof that PD don't really care about what we want, I don't know what it would take...

Maybe B-Spec Anywhere, while A-Spec remains 1/4 the size of GT4..? :grumpy:

If you think the thread is a bad idea, don't post in it. If you don't like the thread author, PM him and don't post here. This...

Here we go again.....

..is utterly pointless and helps no-one. Nor is it amusing and serves only to raise your post-count +1

Your attitudes are quite ridiculous to be quite blunt.

"Wanna go out for a walk?"

"Nah, its gonna rain"

"But its a beautiful day"

"Well, it's gonna rain one day"

I'll add some suggestions:

B-Spec Bob can help you do endurance races.
Speed up time on B-Spec (ideally abolish B-Spec altogether and add more A-Spec a la GT4)
Add more A-Spec tournaments
Make A-Spec races longer
Make endurance race prizes worth doing such a long race for (300,000 for 6 and a half hours in the wet at Suzuka is taking the piss)
Make ANY car available to sell for cash (You cannot sell this car... what the hell is that about?)
Fix the shadows
Fix the tyre physics for comfort tyres (ok they should not have alot of grip but the shape of the slip-curve feels all wrong)
Sort the physics out for the F1 cars - the weight is wrong, the power output and torque curve of the engines is wrong, the tyre dynamics are wrong, etc....

Done to death and anyone who's been in the GT5 section for more than 3 minutes knows this.

Didn't close the last one but closed this one.
