GT5 Profile - What takes precedence?

Ok, So does anyone know if the game or the server has precedence for the player profile?

I got a terminal Ylod (tried fixing..all bad):sick:. I had to reinstall and the restore didn't do JACK :p. My current ingame profile is back to 0, but on my GT5 home online, all my progress is still listed.

The question is, will be profile be overwritten to show 0 progress, or will the server sync up to show my true progress? I'm hoping the folks at Polyphony were clever enough to foresee a need for the latter.:grumpy:
 
It will be overwritten and show 0 i bet.
 
I just saw the sync up and the answer is ....... FAIL, the game takes precedence :grumpy:

Seriously, how hard would it have been to ask the player if he wants to retrieve his profile? Maybe the folks at Polyphony could have done away with 1 artist and employed a game designer.
