GT5 Replay Excitement Needs To Be Improved.

I've bought GT1 few days ago, then I played it on my PS1. Everytime I finish a race, I always look forward to the replay. When I watch it, I feel so excited because its replays makes me feel much closer to the action of a race and they are sort of 2X better than GT5 in terms of replay angles and the music, although the graphics look outdated.

When I went back to GT5 to compare the replays between GT5 and GT1, GT1 has much better replays. I've noticed that GT5's replays are trying to copy what would a real race would look like, It's boring. But in GT1, with the awesome music along with the amazing camera angles that makes you feel much closer in the heat of a race, It feels awesome until the last lap of the race.

May I suggest to PD that when you guys want to make GT6, please add :

-Better replay angles
-Better music
-the 'special replay mode' that was in GT4 (I don't know what its called, sorry)
-Better crowd noises

What are your thoughts ? :D

Maybe an option to switch between replay styles cos' I quite like the tv style they got in gt5. I prefer to feel as if im watching a race on tv. In this regard I personally find gt5 replays the best in any driving game I played. I currently play f1 2010 as well and can't stand to watch the replays cos' they are way too glitchy with horrible angles for me. Its so annoying as well as the races are always very exciting. So in all I have to say I am satisfied with current gt5 replays and anything other than a tv style approach would ruin it for me.

An option to switch between replays styles. Wow, that's a cool idea. :D
I also like the TV style, but the camera angles repeats every lap,it makes me feel boring. If PD throws away the repeating camera angles, and put some good generic music, it'll be awesome !

Previous GTs were much more flexible. You choose to focus on just one car, or on the "pack", you could also choose to sync the replay with the music, which gave the replay a completely different flavour, with artistic filters and odd but good camera angles. I'd like to see some of these things return.

Personally, I like it how it is. Having TV style replay angles are much preferable to the shaking/bluring nonsense we see in some other games. It's not exciting to me--just annoying.

And actually, I turned off the music and don't want it. What the replay really needs in my opinion are FF/RR controls (and slow x4 x 2 and fast x2 x4 x8 x16).

Especially on endurance race replays.
I had a very good lap time on Suzuka that I want to see again but I have to wait another hour just to wait for the special lap.

And, yeah, it's like GT5 replays have to be more variate, people can get bored easily watching cars from the same angles every laps, combined with bad music taste, and with just a single graphic filter.

I guess that was for the game realism reasons but it doesn't even have to affect the replay mode, right?

Yeah, and I'm one of them. PD has to bring back the excitement of watching replays again. Just like they did when GT1 came out.

With great music, awesome replay angles that don't repeat every lap and FF/RR buttons , I'm sure PD can make replays worth saving and watching them over and over again. :D

The Free roam ability on a replay would enhance the ability to make some very good replays combined with Fast forward and Rewind.

I like the current GT 5 replays as well. What I noticed in other games is that the camera most of the time is zoomed in on the wheel or headlights. I want to see my car battling the car beside me and not the same headlight shaking every lap altho I'm not against having both options.

They need to make the fats forward and rewind stuff which I heard they are, but it sucks watching a replay and wanting to take a pic and u miss the perfect shot and have to stop and play it all over again. Also u need to be able to choose which lap u want to start from. I was doing an endurance race and something cool happened on the 67 lap. No way I'm gonna save the replay and remember what lap something cool happened or wait and watch hours worth or laps just to finally get to where I wanna take a pic of something.

GT1 (and PS1) replays seem more exciting than they really are because you're looking at everything at a lesser framerate. The tire squeals are overdone, there's plenty that (to me) looks goofy and unrealistic in comparison to GT5. The later GTs (GT3 and later) look more like a real-life race being played, which is fine with me. I'd like to see more camera angles and a replay system with more options (like in GT3), but otherwise I'm fine with the action in GT5.

Conclusion: play GT1?

Totally agree on this one..

GT1 had all the right ideas, the body pitch and roll was excellent looking, and not many games had done it so well, but it was a bit ott, and often the top of a front tyre would protrude through the wing above it.

I'd say GT5 has some goofy things going on too, though.
The way dust, spray, snow and smoke is blown off to the side at 100mph (who thought that looked good or realistic?).
Smoke which is far too thick and made far too easily.

Combine these things with the rubbish aliasing and it's a bit:tdown:

Fortunately the car behaviour is very good for the most part.

I'd like to see them use the Best Motoring camera angles for Tsukuba, and definitely the Top Gear angles for the Test Track.

I've been noticing much better and action packed replay angles recently, watching TGTT replay are actually bearable (still missing that signature Tire cam at followthrough\Bentley).

New angles on Nordschleife and even the Cape Rings.

Is it me? I couldnt find anything on this subject.

What i mean is that since 2.06 the replay angles in general seem to be better, more action packed, not compared to old GTs just compared to previous versions pre2.06.

Somehow replay camera angles need to be made random. Watching the exact same camera angles for the longer tracks every time you watch a replay is really unfortunate.

There should be a more balanced mixture of stationary cameraman and "chase cam" shots. More ACTION!

And it shouldn't be that hard to do this, because that's what they do for all of the track generator tracks.

I love, despite the face of no true fast forward and rewind buttons, the replay in GT5. If you learn that the existing FF/RR splits the track up into sections, it can be very handy. One thing that really gets me though is the lack of the ability to switch camera angles on the fly. Sometimes I'm watching a drift replay and there is smoke everywhere, I'd like to be able to switch to a different camera (not view) for that few seconds where it's nothing but smoke.

As for the comment about having the same angles for every single lap, I'm not sure if I'm watching the same replays because, I can do a 3 lap run on say, Trial Mountain. One lap out of the three would have completely different camera angles. My guess it's probably where on the track you are, if you're doing the exact same line over and over might give you the exact same replay over and over.

I've been putting a video together for the past month (working really really slow, spare time), and been splicing in different camera angles, the ones I like and pretty much making up my own replay. So I've been paying attention to camera angles and finding the best ones.

There random , every section had a group of preset angles it picks

You should be able to control the angle viewing your car with the analogue stick, so say you could emphasize on the glowing brake disks at night, etc.
