Hi everyone, I have been trying to complete the pickup truck seasonal event and I have been struggling to complete it with my Dodge Ram '04. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for alternative pickup trucks to use?

I've got a Toyota truck that is a lot of laughs around the 'Ring. I'll post it up when I get home. It's stripped out, has new drivetrain, transmission and suspension. Oh, and I added a sports exhaust to make it sound a little better :trouble: Runs about 435-445PP, depending on engine condition...

Toyota with a few modifications will do the job 👍

Thanks for your replies :) Does anyone know how i can get one? I haven't seen them in any of the dealerships :/

This seasonal didn't really blow my hair back, so I'm embarrassed to say that I can't remember which pickup I used. However, it was the one that you can get at one of the new dealers. Mod it a bit & it'll win easily. (I use a wheel, btw.)

The Tacoma X-Runner can be found in the UCD. Not sure if you can get it through winning any of the A Spec races. I've got a couple of them and I don't remember buying both of them. One has mileage on it, the other was 0/0/0, so I either won it, or got it from the OCD 👍

Thanks for your help 👍 , I have started a thread on the GT5 Marketplace to see if anyone is willing to do a trade :)

SSR can be found in OCD. I used one for the seasonals. I thought it handled very well. It's on share in PSN playnthru2. You could FR me and try it out, if you like?

Send me an FR on PSN, I'll put mine on share and you can borrow it 👍

So far the Chev SSR is working, need more tuning for Suzuka and 'Ring, Indy was the easiest, then Rome, Mt.Aso, and 0.4 behind at nu and it looks like 2:31 ilaps are needed at Suzuka. Although kind of a lame seasonal, it does impress the sensation of weight and inertia with the pickup versus a sporty car, just the very subtle changes to the screen and vehicle dynamics makes it feel more than just going slower. Well done POlyphony Digital!

Toyota Tacoma

Give it a go, makes eaasy meat out of the other Tacomas, good for a 8:15 around the 'Ring, in my hands...

i've manged to win all races with all the trucks, but this setup for the tacoma worked best for me:
takomtuning.jpg

since i don't how to adjust the tune for a spesific track, i used the same for all...
adjust power to get the pp you want. won all races with 430pp with this, and i am at best a medium driver...
did the ring in 8.08.xxx with 470pp

I have won them all easily with the SSR except Mt. Aso. I have run second in my 6+ tries. I had one really good run but the Tacoma beat me to the finish line by 0.02 seconds. I use the DS3 and automatic transmission. I suppose I'll just keep trying until I learn a better line around the track. I really think that I am over driving the track in certain turns. Since there isn't a track to practice on then I guess I'll just keep trying.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did try the Spooky Tune but my own tune works better. I only did a stage 1 weight reduction so I could get the most HP and torque. Thanks in advance.

My truck is on share if anyone needs a truck to borrow. I've won all races with it easily. Send friend request to cargorat323 with a note as to what its for. Blank friend requests will be deleted. Peace.

There are no premium pickups so there's no way you got one from the new car dealership. If you mean the online dealership the chevy SSR is for sale there with 0 miles.

If you've got a Toyota Tacoma kicking around, you're welcome to try this...

I beat this seasonal with the Silverado SST on one account, and the F150 on another. Both did well. Thinking of trying the SSR for the third account.

I won races using the Dodge Ram and Silverado SST !

That's the one, then. UCD/OCD moment... :dunce:

I managed to win 'em all with the 171. Dodge RAM 1500 LARAMIE Hemi Quad Cab ’04 and and then the SSR. Both tuned up to 470pp.

Pick any of the trucks, lighten as much as possible, add the non pp increasing extras for performance (clutch, suspension, lsd, torque diff etc) then add a supercharger and see what the pp is. At this point balance out what exhausts, air filters etc you can add while keeping to the 470pp limit. tuning up to around 480 then limiting down to 470 should also see you winning gold. Let us know how you do!!

Just used the SSR for the third account. Feels stiffer, but is actually all around easier to drive than the SST and F150.

👍 for the advice. I used the stage 3 weight reduction from your suggestion and parts of tunes from others combined with some of my own and after the 2nd. attempt after the stage 3 weight reduction and @ 470pp I beat the Tacoma by .03 seconds at the end of the last lap.

I really enjoyed this seasonal with the exception of MT. Aso. It took 10 attempts before I finally won it. So I am sure it was with info I gathered from others here on GTP and their contributions and finally learning the right braking points and knowing not where to over drive the SSR on the track.

If others are struggling with this I will be happy to post my tune of the SSR that finally enabled me to conquer Mt. Aso.

👍 for all who contributed tunes and advice and 👍 to :gtplanet: and all the members. Without this great community of people many like me would be pullin their hair out, throwing the controllers at the TV and the high blood pressure that some of the races have caused.

:gtpflag: !!!!!

I finally just tried this after finally Golding the lambo seasonal. I was having mega trouble with this, but after adding full ballast and adjusting all of it to the rear and fine tuning the gearing I was beating every race by 15 seconds. It made the truck handle do well I went back and did one of the races with 430ish and still crushed them. I had the engine % at 50%
