GT5 Spec II/XL - PAL or no PAL?

Unbeliveably, my GT5 is still v1.0.0. It feels like such an incomplete game. I have no internet back where my PS3 is and haven't even been able to play GT5 since June. I'm so desperate for updates but the file size from 1.0.0 to 2.0.x would be enormous.

So imagine my delight at hearing of the GT5 Spec II release. Or as I like to think, "How the game should have been released but we were pressured into releasing it early/we need more money from you guys". Then, imagine my despair at reading that it won't be available in PAL.

Is this an absolute? I really, really wish this game would be released on PAL/in Europe and hope Sony have a re-think. I adore my GT5 as it is, but it's quite frustrating having non-existant customizeable transmission and what is essentially GT5 Gamma.
 
Unfortunately, you're out of luck. One option for the update is to check into a hotel for a night and use their WiFi. Its quite expensive but that may be what you'll have to do to get internet. It seems like an outrageous idea but I've heard of some people on GTPlanet who have done it.

My PS3 is back home in Wales. I'm in Germany until June. I have no internet at home in Wales.

It's a difficult problem. Is it possible to download the update onto my computer and then upload that onto the PS3 somehow?
