Wow, and i thought NFS:Shift was bad about car combat. I've watched many races in my 48 years of life and have never seen F1 drivers just run around the track attacking each other. But that is indeed the case with the FGT Races. I will never attempt to run this race again due to the car combat of the AI. Here, see for yourself. Here are a few pics from this morning....

In everyone of the above pics the AI rammed me and spun me off the track. Is this the way real formula drivers act on the track? I think not. PD should really put more time into the AI. Don't get me wrong.....I can drive well. I bought the game on 1-7-2011 and have already completed all races except the FGT and several of the long endurance races which i will complete once PD provides a save point for them. But this car combat is just too much. If that was my desire then I would just stick shift back in..LOL.

Try using the J.Leno Tank for combat races.

Well what always catches my attention is that when I'm in front of them they spin me out like I'm made of feathers, but when it's vice-versa they're glued on the road :| something really wrong there physics-whise

The AI can recover much faster than you since they're not human, they processes pretty quick responses to any attempt to spin them out, I've noticed that it's less because I can't pit them and more because they're good at recovering from a skid. And yes, you can spin them out with enough force.

Once I got used to how the AI behaves, I didn't have to worry about getting pitted.

Just don't forcefully take their racing line and you'll be fine.

We must be watching different races, because while I haven't watched racing for as long as you have, I've seen some outright blatant and overly aggressive attacks from the many racing disciplines. That GT5 does it too makes it fun to watch and somewhat more realistic than in past games.
