I popped in GT3 in my ps2 yesterday.. and.. Im terrible at that game now! The driving physic's have me in the wall every other turn! Mabye its my terrible driving skills, but does anyone else feel a drastic difference in gameplay when going to GT5 to a past GT game :scared:?

Yes, and no. I find the game's driving physics just fine...

It's the DualShock 2. The analogs are WAY stiffer than the DS3 ones. If they weren't so stiff I could probably drive like in GT5.

No, it's your driving 👍

Seriously though, no, not really, I play a lot of different driving games so adapting quickly to something slightly different has never been a problem for me. Maybe your problem there is that you play GT5 too much :)

Cant go wrong there :sly:

Yes the Controller does feel quite different from ps3's. Especially R2 and L2 :ouch:(the buttons i drive and break with)

I find it hard to get used to different cars in GT5, never mind totally different games. I haven't played GT3 for ages (I was really young when I played it before) but I did try GT4 a while ago. Different physics confuses me. :dunce:

I still beg to differ.

I play a lot of driving games too (anything from arcadey to simulator games) and the controller makes a huge difference. I can still drive a perfect lap in GT3 and 4 with the DS2 - I'm not saying that that's a issue, what I'm saying is that it's way easier with a DS3 because since you do not need to make too much effort to move the analogs around then it's easier to maintain the car in the line that you want.

I use both analogs, one to drive the car and another to accelerate and decelerate.

That's probably because the DS2 trigger buttons are pressure sensitive whereas the DS3 trigger buttons are analog, there's a huge difference when it comes to control.

That makes no sense at all, I've played PS3 driving games where the controls are twitchy as hell and others that are sluggish and take a lot of input from the analogue sticks, it's the game, not the controller, all you have to do is adapt from game to game so adapting from DS2 to DS3 is no different. Also analogue sticks do loosen through use, I have 2 DS3 pads and both feel completely different, mainly because one is well used and the other is almost brand new.
