OK so Ive been playing with the track editor and came up with some better ideas for it.
Track editor should have environments at least 10 different ones.

They are open environments with mountains, trees, rivers, lakes ,snow, sand,

Now we have open huge environments that we cant change the landscape but we can lay the track down over the land scape to our liking.

Environments are 100x100 miles on width and length and then we are givin something similar to mod nations where we lay out the track.

You can tunnel through mountains and make bridges over water so that people can create tracks that they want to race on in different environments.

This is all user created and there will be no random generation of tracks.

All you get is an open environment and you pick your route over it. And this will apply to all surface areas all environments can be picked for dirt or asphalt and on areas with snow the same happens.

Night and day should be in full effect and full weather changes.

Environments
Japanese mountain
European country
European style mountain
Island Tropical
Desert
Desert mountain
City
Snowy country road
Snowy mountain pass
Fantasy( couldn't think of any more good environments i would want to race in)

So that's my thought on what the track editor should be implemented let me know what you guys think.

before all of that, i would like to be able to race online on the tracks ive made...

Sure that would be great, but would take a lot to implement.

Really all I would like to see at the moment would be to specify a track length. I've found it really hard to make a 4km Eiffel Circuit track. I don't want 6-7km tracks, but they are the most common tracks that crop up. Maybe being able to specify a range of lengths, like 3-4km, 4-7km etc and the generator creates a track within those parameters.

Also I would like the option to specify on the map where I want the sector points, maybe within a certain range. But being able to do that would give so much more freedom in getting the track that you want.

As it is, it's fine really. Being as random as it is, your only going to find a gem of a track once in a while. Its much like Photo Mode. It takes hundreds of photos to get the one shot that looks just right. The track generator is much the same. You can't expect a great track every time you click new track, but if you work at it, you can find some great pieces of road worthy of a real life counterpart.
