I am brand new to this. Getting a little frustrated. Every on-line race I enter I am last off the starting grid. All the other cars stick like glue on the curves, are faster on the straights etc.
I am entering the races with almost the limit in PP allowed.
Are there some general tuning combinations that give the cars that extra handling ability?
I realize all the stuff about approaching the corners with the right combination of braking, down shifting etc. but it just seems that the other cars are way superior in every category.
Maybe I'm just a bad driver :-((( but I think there is more to it because I can win the bronze and silver trophies in many of the time trials. No where near the gold and maybe all the on-line drivers are gold trophy winners.

Read the stickies in this link:

No offense, but if you can't gold the time trials in the seasonal events, then it's probably just your driving. The seasonal time trials are setup so anyone can gold them without much trouble. You just need to practice more.

Okay thanks guys. Just discovering a whole lot of stuff on tuning. Probably a combination of the car and my experience (mostly). Need to concentrate on just a few tracks also at the beginning. Jumping from one new track to another amplifies the problem.

Did you do any of the license tests yet? You can gain a lot of really good driving skill by watching the example videos in the license tests, should be quite easy to get bronze in the tests... Silver is really starting to get good... and golds... well golds are indeed fairly hard to get. I rarely try for golds, only recently did all golds in the 'Super' license tests, cause I wanted to get the GT-R Spec V ( Academy Version) '09.
