GT5 update 3rd person view changes

please please make an option to stop the dizzy screen wobble thing in 3rd person view. i can't see my speed or any other HUD info into the corners. i use my peripheral sight to make sure i hit the right speed for a corner, which is impossible for me now. not to mention how disorientated and sick it makes me feel! the main reason i have a console is gt5 and its my favourite game by far but i don't even want to play it with this function on.

I rarely find myself using third person view when racing competitively, usually using bumper or roof cam which havn't changed.

I don't think it has changed that much, but I like some of them 3rd person views better now (Like the GT-86 one for example).

Don't use it much but it's better than before. (talking about 2.04 here since I don't have 2.05 yet)

EDIT: I especially like being a bit closer to the car since I can see better where I am going (compare the GT-86 position with the Ferrari 458 position):

Since I wen't from 1.00 to 2.04 (when the screen wobble was reduced) I haven't really noticed the difference. I downloaded 2.05 today but didn't play in 3rd person view. I'll check this afternoon to see if there is a difference between 2.04 and 2.05.

Despite many people disliking it, I saw videos of when the screen wobble was introduced, and I liked it. I still play with 3rd person view with standards, unless it's the Prowler, FGT or any other open top car in which I use cockpit. I don't like the blacked out interiors.

please please make an option to....

I Think its a Huge improvement! Im a Drifter, and when you Drift with the screen wobble, it makes it more realistic. Far better than before! But when im racing I dont notice the screen wobble at all, and my HUD is always on my screen... You must have an old TV?

Not a hissy, just pointing out a common double-standard that makes me chuckle. :)

On-topic, I personally can't stand chase cam. It makes me feel more like a spectator than a participant and all my real-world driving instincts don't work like they do in bumper or cockpit view. But that's just my opinion, way back in the day before I used a wheel I used chase cam, but I've never used it on GT5 so I can't comment on whether it's changed or not. I wish they'd put the perspective of the hood cam more ad dashboard level and add a rearview mirror, that would be the ideal view. 👍

I believe in GT3 (correct me if i'm wrong) there was the OPTION to turn Dynamic Chase Cam on/off.

What seems to have happened is that when they released spec 2.03? PD just changed this exact setting without giving us the option. :ouch:

They never cease to amaze with some of these decisions.

PD Employee: "Hey Kaz, a few of your peeps on GTPlanet are calling for the chase cam to stick with the exact angle of the car- this group of players do not like the dynamic 3rd-person view."

Kaz: "ok just turn the dynamic setting off then..."

what the? :dunce:

The chase came in GT3 was not dynamic, nor was there an option. In fact, the one in GT3 was much looser than the one in GT5 ever was.

And they probably just turned it off rather than making it an option because the thing was massively glitched as it was.

the glitches with 3rd person view STARTED after they turned it 'off' in spec 2.03, ...buddy.

Instead of adding the option- they actually just switched it to a setting opposite the way that was set when the game shipped! Did it matter that thousands of people had gotten used to the dynamic style? There's no way anyone could honestly say that adding the option would have taken even 12 more man-hours (1 japanese workday) than just lazily switching it over from dynamic.

No they didn't. The spazzing out issue was a problem with the dynamic camera from day one.

What a coincidence: There's no way you can honestly say that you know what they might have needed to do to chase down the glitches the dynamic cam had.

it's a camera view, buddy! :D

And you're saying GT5 shipped with the cam-spazzing glitch in 3rd person view?

No. I'm saying that the dynamic camera was plagued with that problem from the patch it was introduced in, and I have to imagine "fix the camera settings that we broke" is pretty far down the list of things Kaz wanted done; so that is likely why they just shut it off instead.

GT2 has 2 chase cams XD.
And I would only get that glitch I guess everyone is talking about when im doing doughnuts.
PD should just print out a big motivational poster that says "OPTIONS" and put it somewhere in the office where everyone can see it.
