GT5 Update - Black Screen

Some background info, I haven't played GT5 for quite a while. When I start the game up it prompts me to install "Version 1.13", problem is, when I accept, the screen goes black, and I'm forced to restart the system. My system's a launch model 60GB so I won't be surprised if it will need replacing, but for obvious reasons I'll be pretty pissed off, it's pretty annoying how we just seem to accept that things we pay a lot for will break. Anyway, I digress, does anyone know what I can do to solve my problem?

I think it's a 1:13 problem.

Yes there is a way to solve it. This is normal when installing newer patches with older versions. Start the game, wait for the patch message to come up. Just take a look at the HDD light in your PS3 (the orange one I think) and wait for it to stop blinking. When it does, transfer.
