GT5 + USB-Keyboard - still working?

Hey,

i saw many videos on youtube where people using a USB-Keyboard to automatically grind money in A-Spec/B-Spec mode. As i was trying to connect my USB-Keyboard to my PS3 to use it for GT5, it seemed i can't. The keyboard is working withing the PSN-Software when you boot up your PSN. So i'm able to add friends with my keyboard but as soon as i start GT5 my keyboard seems to be disabled. I'm than no longer able to use my keyboard to enter or navigate menus in GT5.

I'm using a Logitech G110. Also i asked a friend if he can try to use his keyboard (Logitech G11) but he also can't use it for GT5.

So does anybody know if it's still possible to use a keyboard in GT5 or is this featured maybe patched? Or maybe i'm just using a not supported keyboard, i don't know..

greets!

This was really only useful back in the days when payouts for events were quite low, now with high paying seasonal events there is no need. And, although i'm not 100% sure I think in a previous update they patched something so grinding with the X2010 became alomost useless.

Hey,

thanks for your answer but it didn't helped me. I know that there are seasonal events which get you good money but i started this topic to know if it's still possible to use a usb-keyboard in GT5.

greets

Just tested this for you. The keyboard is still working perfectly for GT5. All functions are working. I'm using an ancient HP keyboard, probably one of the first USB ones.

//Also thanks to you, GoSpeedRacer.

Try plugging the KB into another USB port. Maybe once GT5 loads, it doesn't like the keyboard being in the particular USB slot that you have it in. Other than that, I'm not sure if it is due to it being a newer keyboard or not.

On the subject of using the KB during grinding sessions, the game has been patched to make the walls "stickier" and just letting the X1 grind it's way around the indy track is next to impossible now. Just FYI, of course. ;)

Just tested both USB slots, both working fine, I changed it during the game. (80g fatty)

Save yourself the trouble and rent the Bob's out for tickets or cars at the Marketplace - you can find many guys providing a grinding service. At the 200% reward level, you can easily get more cash than you know what to do with - I have one Bob sitting on almost 10 million alone!
